You will transform business and analytical requirements into governed and reusable semantic models, reports and dashboards in close cooperation with business stakeholders and IT professionals. You will also play a key role in renewing the way we lead with data and insights by developing key components of AI-driven business intelligence capabilities that make analytics more proactive, conversational and accessible to users.\nIn this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining Power BI solutions, including semantic models, DAX calculations, and visualization. You will ensure that the solutions comply with Metsä’s architecture, security, governance, user experience and development practices.\nYou will optimize the performance of semantic models, DAX calculations, reports and data refreshes to ensure high-performing, maintainable and user-friendly analytics solutions. You will also solve technically challenging analytics problems, influence solution design decisions, recommend best-practice implementation approaches and contribute to the development of enterprise-wide Power BI practices. Your responsibilities will also include implementing approved data-access controls, maintaining technical documentation and supporting testing, deployment, release management and the transition of solutions to continuous services.\nYou will collaborate with Solution Owners, Solution Designers, Data Architects, Data Engineers, business stakeholders, development partners and other Power BI developers. You will also resolve complex Power BI issues, guide, review and approve solutions developed by external partners and contribute to the continuous improvement of our Power BI development practices.\nThis is a permanent position and you will report to Development Manager, Analytics.\nWhat are we expecting of you?\nWe are looking for an experienced analytics professional with strong expertise in Power BI development, semantic modelling, DAX and data visualization. You have experience in developing business-critical reporting and analytics solutions and can translate business needs into clear, effective and maintainable analytical solutions.\nTo succeed in this role, we expect you to have:\nStrong expertise in Power BI development, semantic modelling, DAX and data visualization including dimensional modelling and star schema design\nGood understanding of data preparation, data architecture, information security and analytical requirements.\nAbility to critically evaluate what parts of the solution should be implemented in which layer of the data architecture based on best practices\nExperience in controlled development, testing, deployment and solution lifecycle practices.\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern productivity solutions to accelerate analytics development, improve code quality, and automate routine tasks.\nUnderstanding of emerging AI-enabled analytics and business intelligence capabilities, such as conversational analytics, natural-language interaction, automated insight generation or similar intelligent user experiences, is considered an advantage.\nThe ability to balance business value, user experience, technical quality, security and performance.\nGood collaboration and communication skills for working with business stakeholders, technical experts and development partners.\nStrong analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nKnowledge of SQL, Azure, Databricks and SAP data sources is considered an advantage.\nMost importantly, you are a collaborative and development-oriented professional who is motivated by creating high-quality analytics solutions and continuously improving the way data is used to support business decision-making.\nCareer in the new era at Metsä Group\nAn international growth business - build a successful career At Metsä Group.
