In this role, you will promote, educate, and engage managers, supervisors, and employees on health, safety, and environmental matters while driving a safe and sustainable working environment and continuous improvement across the foundry.You will report to the General Manager, and the role location is Quzhou, China, with an onsite working model.\nTeam you will belong to\nYou will lead the local EHS team and support the site's health, safety, and environmental management activities. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining EHS practices, ensuring compliance with requirements, strengthening risk management, and supporting safe operations across the foundry.The team works closely with managers, supervisors, employees, contractors, and subcontractors to improve EHS performance, implement global initiatives, and promote a strong safety culture.\nWhat you'll do\nProvide guidance and support to management in fulfilling health, safety, and environmental responsibilities.\nMonitor EHS performance, analyze data, and provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.\nFacilitate hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and follow-up of corrective actions.\nIdentify training needs and deliver EHS training to managers, supervisors, employees, contractors, and subcontractors.\nEnsure accurate and timely reporting of EHS-related data in accordance with Metso processes and requirements.\nMaintain awareness of local legislation, customer requirements, and Metso standards, and communicate relevant updates across the organization.\nParticipate in internal and external audits, support emergency preparedness activities, and review EHS aspects related to equipment, chemicals, and process changes.\nDevelop and maintain the local EHS management system, implement global EHS initiatives, and lead, coach, and develop the EHS team.\nWhat you'll bring\nCollege-level education or higher.Demonstrated experience in a similar EHS leadership role.\nGood knowledge of Microsoft Office and Metso EHS-related tools.\nGood written and spoken English communication skills.\nAbility to build effective working relationships and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.\nProven leadership capabilities, with the ability to guide, develop, and support team performance.\nNice to have\nKnowledge of health, safety, and environmental management practices, hazard prevention and protection principles, and applicable legislation, standards, and industry requirements.\nUnderstanding of products, equipment, and services relevant to the operating environment.\nExperience in supplier management, influencing and negotiation, and delivering training programs.\nAbility to prepare reports, deliver presentations, and communicate effectively in multicultural environments.\nWhat's in it for you\nAt Metso, you will combine meaningful work with opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact in a supportive and inclusive environment.
