In this role, you will manage project purchasing activities, supplier coordination, purchase orders, logistics, and inventory movements to support smooth execution of Aftermarket Engineer-to-Order projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Sourcing, Suppliers, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Finance teams and report to the Project Purchasing Manager.\nThis role is based in Gurugram or Vadodara, India, with travel of up to 10% as required to support project execution and supplier engagement.\nTeam you will belong to\nYou will join the Services Project Procurement team within the Procurement and Manufacturing Organization. The team operates globally, while your main focus will be supporting project execution with external suppliers and Project Managers in India.\nThe team plays a key role in ensuring purchasing and logistics activities run smoothly throughout Aftermarket Engineer-to-Order projects. We collaborate closely with Project Management, Sourcing, Suppliers, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Finance to ensure timely and effective project execution.\nOur ways of working emphasize collaboration, accountability, clear communication, continuous improvement, and getting things done together.\nWhat you’ll do\nCreate and manage purchase orders assigned by Project Managers, ensuring alignment with project schedules, specifications, and purchasing requirements.\nSupport purchase order creation, administration, and other workload-related activities within the team.\nTrack purchase orders, coordinate supplier activities, and proactively identify actions to prevent supply chain delays.\nMonitor supplier performance and escalate risks, deviations, and potential impacts to project schedules.\nCoordinate communication between project teams, suppliers, and internal functions to support smooth project execution.\nMaintain accurate purchasing documentation and support project progress reporting and updates.\nCoordinate logistics and documentation for international shipments in line with project and regulatory requirements.\nManage project-specific inventory movements, including stock reservations and transfers, and contribute to continuous improvement activities.\nWhat you’ll bring\nMinimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or project operations, preferably within machinery, engineering, or industrial manufacturing.\nExperience working in project-based environments or Engineer-to-Order models is highly desirable.\nGood understanding of procurement processes, supply chain practices, trade compliance, and regulatory requirements.\nStructured and organized approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on agreed actions.\nExperience in supplier follow-up, risk identification, and escalation.\nStrong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams, suppliers, and internal functions.\nPractical problem-solving skills and confidence working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.\nProfessional working proficiency in English; a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.\nWillingness to travel up to 10% to support project execution and supplier engagement.\nWhat's in it for you\nAt Metso, you will combine meaningful work with opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact in a supportive and inclusive environment.
