Be proficient on Material Handling Equipment.\nPerform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nRequires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.\nMinimum 25 years of age.\nMust possess a valid California driver’s license and class “A” endorsement.\nMust be able to read, write, and speak in the English language to meet DOT requirements. \nMust be able to successfully pass a DOT Drug Screen, a company regulated road skills test, a proper pre-trip inspection in accordance with FMCSR and Company Policy, a DOT physical and a Physical Abilities Test (PAT).\nRequires 1 year of forklift operation experience. Forklift certification preferred.\nComputer knowledge is a plus.\nMust possess organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.\nMust be able to communicate effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.\nMust be able to interface with other Meyer employees.\nMust possess mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job duties.\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\nWork is performed primarily at the warehouse. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e. computer and telephone; and standard safety equipment I.e. forklift and scooter; and automated sortation system. Individual will have some exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold and fumes. Physical demands include walking, standing, bending over, crouching, balancing, pushing, and pulling, repetitive use of both hands, grasping, lifting up to 50 lbs., driving cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment, and being around other work equipment and machinery; and occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, and kneeling. Distribution Center Hours are primarily seven days per week / 24 hours per day with various shifts and some overtime required.
