The role supports the effective implementation of the Data Privacy Policy and associated standards, promotes privacy-by-design principles, and works collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure privacy risks are identified, assessed and managed appropriately. The role combines regulatory knowledge, business understanding and sound judgement to provide practical privacy guidance and support.\nMain Responsibilities\nSupport responses to privacy-related queries and provide advice on all aspects of data privacy. \nEscalate complex matters to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) where appropriate. \nChampion and help embed the Data Privacy Policy and supporting standards across the organisation. \nProvide subject matter expertise for substantive privacy queries, including complex consulting activities and higher-risk initiatives. \nReview and support enterprise and information architecture considerations to ensure privacy-by-design principles are embedded. \nBuild constructive and collaborative relationships with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders across the organisation. \nProvide guidance on privacy legislation, including UK Data Protection requirements and GDPR-related obligations. \nSupport the ongoing development and use of privacy management tools, including OneTrust. \nReport privacy control management information to senior stakeholders. \nKey Knowledge, Skills and Experience \nStrong understanding of data privacy principles, policies and regulatory requirements. \nMinimum 5 years of experience in a similar level role. Around 10 years experience in total within Privacy\nAbility to provide expert advice on privacy-related risks, controls and governance matters. \nKnowledge of privacy legislation, including GDPR and UK data protection requirements. \nExperience supporting privacy-by-design considerations within business and technology environments. \nStrong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across business functions. \nSound judgement with the ability to identify, assess and escalate risks where necessary. \nAbility to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and effectively. \nExperience supporting privacy governance, controls, reporting and continuous improvement activities. \nSuggested Essential Skills \nData privacy and data protection expertise. \nPrivacy risk assessment and governance. \nRegulatory interpretation and advisory capability. \nStakeholder engagement and influencing. \nRisk identification and escalation. \nPolicy implementation and control oversight. \nPrivacy-by-design principles. \nWritten and verbal communication skills. \nSuggested Management Level (internal use only): Experienced Colleague \nAccountable for delivering a quality service and product to customers and stakeholders. \nFocuses on quality of delivery to achieve clear outputs, working within guidelines and precedent. \nRuns the organisation's processes and systems following pre-defined procedures. \nAdapts to change, responds with initiative and makes suggestions for improvements to own work and processes. \nBuilds a network with colleagues in the team. \nMay interact with internal and external customers within clearly defined boundaries. \nWhat we offer:\nWe’re dedicated to supporting your wellbeing and helping you thrive, both at work and beyond.
