The Senior Analyst reports to the Senior Risk Manager - Assurance, Insight & Automation and provides dedicated non-financial risk (NFR) oversight and support across the Life NFR agenda.\nThe role will provide NFR guidance, oversight and challenge across Life business areas; undertaking risk framework oversight and assurance activities; and supporting the identification, assessment, escalation and reporting of material non-financial risks.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead day-to-day 2LOD oversight, challenge and Line 1 Risk engagement across assigned Life business areas and third-party relationships.\nAct as the primary Risk Framework contact for assigned business areas, supporting effective relationships with business stakeholders and first-line Risk teams.\nAct as Life NFR SME for Risk Framework application and MetricStream utilisation, providing guidance, challenge and support across the Life business.\nLead framework oversight activities including review and challenge of RCSA, Issues, Events, KCAs, Processes and Risk Acceptances, ensuring effective identification and escalation of material concerns.\nDesign and deliver Risk Framework training and support implementation of framework enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.\nProvide independent analysis of risk information to identify emerging risks, recurring themes, control concerns and areas requiring escalation.\nSupport assurance reviews, thematic assessments, project engagement and control environment assessments through planning, analysis, evidence gathering and fieldwork activities.\nSupport development of Risk Opinions, Control Environment Assessments and governance outputs through analysis, drafting and insight generation.\nCoordinate engagement with specialist Risk and Compliance SMEs and support delivery of agreed actions and outcomes.\nProvide risk analysis and insight to support assurance planning, prioritisation and development of the Life NFR assurance agenda.\nExperience Required\nEssential\nExperience within Operational Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Risk & Compliance or related control disciplines in a financial services environment.\nStrong understanding of risk management frameworks, governance and risk management processes.\nExpertise in risk management systems and technology platforms, in particular MetricStream.\nSignificant experience undertaking independent review and challenge of RCSA, Issues, Events, Risk Acceptances and other Risk Framework activities.\nAbility to independently assess framework outputs and identify areas requiring challenge or escalation.\nStrong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging directly with business stakeholders and first-line Risk teams.\nExperience designing and delivering training, governance support and Risk Framework guidance.\nStrong analytical capability with the ability to identify emerging risks, trends, recurring themes and cross-business read-across.\nExperience supporting end-to-end assurance review activities, including planning, analysis, evidence gathering and fieldwork.\nExperience supporting thematic assessments, project engagement and control environment reviews.\nStrong written communication skills with the ability to contribute to Risk Opinions, Control Environment Assessments and governance outputs.\nExperience coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities within a regulated environment.\nDesirable\nExperience in life insurance, pensions or other financial services operations.\nExperience using data analytics and reporting tools to support risk oversight and insight generation.\nRelevant professional qualification or progress towards qualification (e.g. IRM, CII, ACA, CIMA, ACCA, IIA or equivalent).\nExperience Level - Experienced Colleague\nRecruiter - Helen Simons\nWhat we offer:\nWe’re dedicated to supporting your wellbeing and helping you thrive, both at work and beyond.
