Come make a difference at MGIC.\nMGIC is seeking a highly motivated Linux Engineer / DevOps Engineer to support and modernize our enterprise infrastructure platforms. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Linux, cloud technologies, automation, and continuous improvement.\nYou will work alongside Infrastructure, Engineering, Security, and Application teams to build, automate, and support critical platforms running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, improve operational excellence, and help drive MGIC's cloud and automation strategy.\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Linux Engineer / DevOps Engineer, you will:\nAdminister and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.\n\nDesign, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.\n\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and CloudFormation).\n\nAutomate server provisioning and configuration management using Ansible.\n\nBuild and support CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.\n\nMonitor system health, performance, and availability.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve Linux, cloud, networking, and application issues.\n\nPartner with development teams to streamline deployments and improve reliability.\n\nImplement security hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.\n\nSupport enterprise authentication integrations including LDAP and Active Directory.\n\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of Linux administration experience.\n\nExperience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).\n\nHands-on experience with AWS cloud services.\n\nExperience using:\n\nAnsible\n\nTerraform\n\nGit\n\nBash or Python scripting\n\nCI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab\n\nStrong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, and firewalls.\n\nExperience troubleshooting production systems and critical incidents.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nRHCSA or RHCE certification.\n\nAWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer certification.\n\nExperience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, or EKS.\n\nExperience with JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, or NGINX.\n\nExperience with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunkor CloudWatch.\n\nLDAP and Active Directory experience is highly desirable, including authentication, SSO, Kerberos, LDAPS, and directory service integrations.\n\nWhat to Expect in Your First 90 Days at MGIC\nMGIC is committed to setting new team members up for success through onboarding, mentorship, and hands-on learning.\nFirst 30 Days - Learn the Environment\nYou'll focus on understanding MGIC's infrastructure, processes, and technology stack.\nYou can expect to:\nComplete onboarding and security training.\n\nGain access to Linux, AWS, monitoring, and DevOps platforms.\n\nLearn MGIC's cloud and infrastructure architecture.\n\nReview automation frameworks and deployment processes.\n\nUnderstand operational procedures and support workflows.\n\nBecome familiar with authentication services, including LDAP and Active Directory.\n\nPartner with team members on ongoing infrastructure activities and support efforts.\n\nDays 31-60 - Contribute and Deliver\nYou'll begin taking ownership of operational responsibilities and automation efforts.\nYou can expect to:\nSupport Linux and AWS production environments.\n\nTroubleshoot system and application issues.\n\nContribute to Ansible, Terraform, and automation initiatives.\n\nParticipate in deployment and release activities.\n\nAssist with patching, security remediation, and platform improvements.\n\nParticipate in incident response and root cause analysis.\n\nDays 61-90 - Lead and Improve\nBy the end of your first three months, you'll be contributing independently and driving improvements.\nYou can expect to:\nOwn Linux and cloud operational tasks.\n\nLead infrastructure changes and deployments.\n\nImprove monitoring, automation, and platform reliability.\n\nRecommend enhancements to security, scalability, and operational efficiency.\n\nCreate and update technical documentation.\n\nBecome a trusted partner to engineering and business teams.\n\nSuccessful Candidates Will Demonstrate\nStrong Linux engineering and troubleshooting skills.\n\nA passion for automation and process improvement.\n\nCloud expertise with AWS services and best practices.\n\nEffective communication and collaboration across teams.\n\nA commitment to reliability, security, and continuous learning.\n\nPay Range:\n$105,590.00 - $179,510.00This range aligns with current market data and reflects our commitment to competitive and equitable compensation.
