Serve as a key member of the Information Technology leadership team and a strategic partner to executive leadership, helping shape enterprise technology strategy.\nPRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nEnterprise Technology & Business Strategy\nPartner with the CIO and business executives to define and execute technology strategies that directly support MGIC's business objectives, growth initiatives, operational priorities, and customer experience goals.\nTranslate business strategy into technology roadmaps, investment priorities, and product portfolios that deliver measurable business value.\nAct as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding technology opportunities, risks, modernization strategies, architecture decisions, and emerging technologies.\nLead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives and modernization efforts across customer-facing and internal platforms.\nSoftware Engineering Leadership\nLead all software engineering teams responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, support, and lifecycle management of MGIC applications and digital products.\nEstablish engineering standards, architecture principles, DevOps practices, quality controls, and delivery methodologies that improve speed, reliability, scalability, and security.\nDrive adoption of modern engineering capabilities including cloud-native platforms, automation, APIs, data services, AI-enabled solutions, and continuous delivery practices.\nEnsure engineering teams effectively balance innovation, technical debt reduction, resiliency, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.\nProduct Management & Product Delivery\nEstablish product operating models that align technology investments with business outcomes and customer needs.\nOversee product strategy, product roadmaps, prioritization, funding decisions, and portfolio performance across business and technology domains.\nEnsure product teams maintain clear ownership of vision, roadmaps, backlogs, customer value realization, and product performance metrics.\nPortfolio & Investment Management\nPartner with the Enterprise Program Office to govern a portfolio of technology products, platforms, and delivery initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and value realization objectives\nEvaluate and prioritize technology investments based on business value, risk, strategic alignment, and return on investment.\nMonitor delivery performance, benefits realization, financial performance, resource utilization, and operational risk across the portfolio.\nBusiness Relationship & Stakeholder Leadership\nBuild strong partnerships with executive leaders across all business functions to understand priorities and ensure technology capabilities support business strategies.\nDrive alignment among business leaders, product teams, engineering teams, architecture, security, and operations organizations.\nCommunicate technology strategy, roadmap progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and governance committees.\nOrganizational Leadership & Talent Development\nLead, coach, and develop high-performing leaders across engineering, quality assurance, and delivery management functions.\nEstablish succession plans and leadership development programs that strengthen MGIC's technology leadership pipeline.\nFoster a culture focused on accountability, innovation, collaboration, customer value, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.\nDrive the appropriate use of AI to enhance the speed and quality of business solutions.\nServe as a member of the IT leadership team with broad accountability beyond software delivery\nParticipate in enterprise strategic planning, technology governance, risk management, and decision-making processes.\nBuild organizational capabilities required to support future growth, modernization, and digital transformation objectives.\nDevelop deep understanding of MGIC's business model, financial performance drivers, regulatory environment, and enterprise operating strategy\nBuild enterprise-wide credibility and influence across business and technology functions\nVendor, Risk & Financial Management\nPartner with Strategic Vendor Management team to oversee strategic technology vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and partner performance management.\nEnsure applications and platforms comply with security, risk, regulatory, audit, and data governance requirements.\nDevelop and manage operating and capital budgets, ensuring effective stewardship of technology investments and achievement of expected business outcomes.\nEXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND \nMinimum of 15 years of experience leading teams in IT ensuring technological solutions deliver business priorities and outcomes\nExperience in creating, aligning and executing technological capabilities to company and business priorities\nExpertisein Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies\nStrong business acumen and strategic thinking\nPortfolio and demand management\nAbility to build cross-functional partnerships that drive business outcomes\nStrong accountability and ownership of delivering results\nFLSA: This position qualifies for the Administrative exemption as the employee is required to exercise discretion and independent judgment in managing projects that
