Acting with a product ownership mindset, this role ensures firewall and connectivity solutions enhance the organization’s security, resilience, and agility. The engineer will contribute to secure connectivity strategy, manage firewall policies, support incident and problem resolution, monitor application and network health, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Staying ahead of emerging threats and trends, this role plays a critical part in maintaining and improving the enterprise’s overall security posture.\nTHE DAY-TO-DAY:\nLead the delivery of scalable, resilient, and secure firewall solutions across a large, distributed enterprise network, aligning with organizational security requirements and industry best practices.\n\nUtilize SNMP, network security policy tools, and observability platforms to monitor network health, ensure capacity planning, and drive proactive issue identification and resolution.\n\nLead complex incident response and root cause analysis for application-layer network security issues, driving continuous improvement and enhancing vendor governance to ensure quality and cost-effective outcomes.\n\nEnsure firewall configurations and policies meet regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI, Gaming Control Boards) and adhere to evolving industry standards through regular audits and policy reviews.\n\nDrive preventative maintenance and respond to operational issues to maintain optimal network performance, availability, and security posture.\n\nMaintain comprehensive security documentation and lead regular governance reviews to validate and evolve network security strategies, policies, and configurations.\n\nCollaborate with business and technical teams to ensure network security initiatives support broader business goals, while leading continuous improvement efforts focused on cost, scalability, supportability, and performance.\n\nTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE:\n5+ years of experience in network security, focused on firewall management and delivering enterprise-scale technical solutions with operational support.\n\nDemonstrated ability to design and implement secure network architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.\n\nProficient in translating complex requirements into actionable solutions and articulating the business value of network security designs.\n\nSkilled in quantitative analysis, problem-solving, and leveraging data to drive technical decision-making and continuous improvement.\n\nExperienced with network automation tools, scripting, and the integration of modern solutions such as Zscaler with traditional firewall technologies.\n\nHands-on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, and Netscaler (or equivalent load balancer platforms), including tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center and Identity Services Engine (ISE).\n\nStrong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead initiatives and support firm-wide innovation.\n\nCertifications such as Cisco Security Specialist, Palo Alto Networks, and CompTIA Security+ are preferred; recently expired certifications will be considered.\n\nTHE PERKS & BENEFITS:\nWellness incentive programs to help you stay healthy physically and mentally\n\nAccess to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and more\n\nFree meals in our employee dining room\n\nFree parking\n\nHealth & Income Protection benefits (for eligible employees)\n\nProfessional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the community\n\nVIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:\nhttps://mgmresorts.marketpayjobs.com/ShowJob.aspx?EntityID=2&jobcode=12492\n Pay Range:\nThe pay range for this role is:\n$100,800.00 - $134,300.00This range represents a good faith estimate of the salary range that MGM reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire.
