The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is looking to fill a full time Trauma Therapist position at the Child Advocacy Center.\nThe Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is a child-friendly, community-oriented, safe environment where children and their families are offered the opportunity to receive comprehensive services when an allegation of child abuse has been made. It is a place where children can feel safe and at ease while being interviewed by a specially trained member of the CAC’s multidisciplinary child abuse investigation team (MDT). This team consists of law enforcement; child protective services; mental health and medical professionals; prosecutors; advocates; and other professionals trained to work with child victims and their family members.\nThe Therapist will develop/facilitate therapeutic services, crisis intervention, and advocacy, as well as provide information and referral services to victims of interpersonal crime and sexual assault (and their families), survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and to secondary survivors. This role includes individual and group therapy, forensic interview advocacy, hotline support, and participation in outreach efforts. The Therapist will ensure all services are culturally responsive, survivor-centered, and trauma-informed.\nPosition Type: Full Time-40 Hours/Exempt\nPay Rate: $62,500.00 annually\nWork Location: 946 Columbia St., Hudson, NY 12534\nShift Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with some evenings based on program needs\nJob Duties Include:\nProvide evidence based, trauma-informed treatment to child victims of abuse and their family members/caregivers.\nDeliver crisis intervention services via phone or in person. \nMaintain a caseload of 25- 30 clients. \nProvide assessments using standardized measures (assessment tools), treatment planning, and completing intakes and maintaining accurate and current case records. \nFacilitate supportive and educational groups for victims' families and the community.\nAssist clients with completing and submitting crime-victim compensation claim applications. \nRespond to client-related calls and correspondence to support treatment, provide personal advocacy, and offer medical and legal advocacy. \nMaintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records, service logs, progress notes, and related documentation in accordance with organizational policies and applicable requirements. \nCollaborate in the planning of professional training for professionals working with this population and provide outreach and prevention education programming. \nWork as part of a multi-disciplinary team which includes participation in monthly team meetings and coordinating treatment and on-going collaboration with community agencies. \nRecording statistical demographic information for national data base and grant reporting via computer.\nProvide clinical expertise to crisis hot-line volunteers and 24-hour crisis hot-line support. \nRequirements\nMust have a Master’s degree and licensure in a mental health field.\nExperienced in specialized trauma-informed mental health services for child victims of abuse, adult survivors, and non-offending family members. \nKnowledge of sexual assault, child abuse, crisis intervention, and culturally responsive service delivery. \nMust have strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.\nProficiency in written communication, public speaking, smartphones, and computer systems.\nMust understand HIPPA privacy laws.\nDemonstrate a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias. \nRegular and steady attendance is a requirement for all positions.\nCandidates from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.\nAll offers are contingent upon successful Statewide Central Registry (SCR), fingerprint clearance and possession of a valid NYS driver’s license with a MVR eligible for agency insurance coverage.\n As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we do not discriminate in our employment practices due to an applicant's sex, race, color, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, creed, disability, veteran status, marital status, familial status, military status, domestic violence victim status, sexual orientation or gender identity/expression (including transgender status), predisposing genetic characteristics/genetic information or carrier status, ancestry, ethnic group identification, ethnic background, traits historically associated with race, reproductive health decision making, or any other category protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
