This role emphasizes backend Python development, good system design, and the deployment of scalable systems - with a strong focus on the voice and multi-channel communication technology at the core of what Mia does. You will work closely with our AI lead to push the boundaries of what's possible, while contributing to the product roadmap as priorities evolve.\nWhat You Will Do:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python.\n\nBuild and contribute to frontend features using TypeScript and React.\n\nImprove voice pipeline performance, expanding multi-channel communication capabilities, and evaluating emerging technologies.\n\nImplement and optimize real-time speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) systems.\n\nContribute to multi-channel messaging systems (SMS, email, voice) built on a shared agentic backbone.\n\nOwn complex refactoring and architecture projects -replacing brittle, legacy patterns with clean, testable, scalable solutions.\n\nApply best practices in software development, including testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews.\n\nMentor and guide team members, fostering technical growth and collaboration.\n\nWhat We Want You to Have:\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python fundamentals.\n\nExperience with frontend development using TypeScript and React.\n\nA product mindset - you think about the \"why\" behind what you build and can contribute meaningfully to roadmap conversations.\n\nProven ability to lead large-scale refactoring or architecture migration projects - shipping incrementally without breaking production.\n\nExperience deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using Docker.\n\nStrong communication and ownership; comfortable working directly with senior cross-functional stakeholders.\n\nUse AI to code - Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent.
