Job Description Summary

Build and manage partnerships with community and student groups interested in equestrian programs. Provide outreach programs for students, faculty, staff and community. Service as additional instructor to club teams, youth teams, camps, and the horseback riding classes offered by the university.

Job Description

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate, schedule, and implement events in conjunction with University and community partners
  • Coordinate events with University Counseling services to implement equine assisted learning opportunities
  • Group riding instruction
  • Assist with travel with teams when needed
  • Assist in supervision of student staff
  • Assist in managing horse herd
  • Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 or more years of group riding instruction experience
  • 1 or more years of facility/programming experience
  • CPR/First Aid certification within the first 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of equestrian safety standards and risk management
  • Knowledge of Equine Assisted Learning modalities
  • 2 or more years of facility/programming management experience
  • 2 or more years of group riding instruction experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Horse/riding knowledge
  • Communication skills
  • Coaching skills, time management, flexibility and problem solving
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
