This position will perform functional, regression, integration, and automated testing of Appian applications while helping ensure that migrated and integrated data is complete, accurate, and usable.\nThe successful candidate will work with Appian developers, database and integration engineers, business analysts, and project stakeholders supporting federal application modernization. The position requires hands-on Appian testing experience, the ability to maintain automated regression coverage, working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, and the judgment to investigate failures across application, data, automation, and environment layers.\nResponsibilities\nAppian Quality Assurance\nDevelop and execute functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end tests for Appian applications.\nValidate Appian interfaces, records, process models, business rules, reports, integrations, plugins, and custom components.\nTranslate requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed test cases and traceable test evidence.\nCreate and manage test data across development, testing, staging, migration, and production-support environments.\nDocument, prioritize, and track defects through resolution and retesting.\nSupport formal testing, user acceptance testing, and release-readiness decisions.\nTest Automation\nDesign, develop, execute, and maintain automated regression and integration test suites for Appian applications.\nAnalyze failed automated tests and distinguish application defects from test-script, data, pipeline, and environmental issues.\nStabilize unreliable tests and improve the consistency and maintainability of automated execution.\nIntegrate automated testing into Jenkins or comparable continuous integration and delivery pipelines.\nMaintain automation code through Git or GitHub source-control workflows.\nSupport containerized test execution using Docker or comparable technologies.\nConnect automated test results with Jira, Xray, or comparable test-management tools.\nData Migration and Integration Support\nReview source-to-target mappings, data-transformation requirements, interface specifications, and business rules with technical and functional team members.\nDevelop and execute SQL queries that validate source and target data.\nCompare record counts, field values, relationships, statuses, dates, and calculated values before and after migration or integration processing.\nValidate data completeness, accuracy, uniqueness, referential integrity, and compliance with business rules.\nSupport mock migrations, cutover activities, rollback testing, and post-migration validation.\nVerify that Appian reports, interfaces, records, and integrations function correctly with migrated and integrated data.\nCollaboration and Reporting\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, quality reviews, and retrospectives.\nProvide clear status updates on test execution, automation health, migration results, defects, dependencies, and risks.\nHelp define quality gates and exit criteria for application releases and migration events.\nProduce test summaries, reconciliation reports, defect metrics, and release-readiness documentation.\nRequired Skills and Experience\nMinimum two years of professional experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or test engineering.\nHands-on experience testing Appian applications or comparable low-code enterprise platforms.\nExperience executing functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.\nExperience developing or maintaining automated testing frameworks.\nWorking knowledge of SQL and relational databases.\nExperience testing system integrations, database conversions, data migrations, or data-intensive applications.\nAbility to interpret source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, requirements, and acceptance criteria.\nExperience managing defects and test execution through Jira, Xray, or comparable tools.\nFamiliarity with continuous integration pipelines and Git or GitHub workflows.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.\nBachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nFour or more years of experience in software quality assurance, automated testing, or test engineering.\nAppian testing experience involving records, process models, interfaces, integrations, plugins, and custom components.\nExperience with FitNesse for Appian or another Appian test-automation tool.\nExperience with Ruby, JRuby, Java, Python, or a comparable automation language.\nExperience creating automated SQL-based reconciliation or data-quality tests.\nExperience supporting migration rehearsals, production cutovers, rollback testing, and post-deployment validation.\nExperience with Jenkins, Docker, RubyMine, AWS-hosted environments, or similar technologies.\nFamiliarity with federal system testing, documentation, security, and release-management requirements.\nAdditional Information\nSuccessful candidates must be able to pass a government background investigation and satisfy public trust requirements.
