This individual will be responsible for signing and sealing survey deliverables, directing field and office survey activities, and ensuring work meets applicable professional standards.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with project leadership, client coordination, quality control, and mentoring the next generation of survey professionals.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nServe as the licensed surveyor for assigned projects, including signing and sealing survey deliverables.\nDirect the technical work of field crews and office survey staff.\nPerform and review complex boundary determinations, Records of Survey, and legal descriptions.\nProvide technical oversight and QA/QC of survey deliverables.\nCoordinate with clients, Project Managers, and agencies regarding project survey requirements.\nProvide technical leadership throughout project execution and delivery.\nMentor and develop survey staff, including supporting employees working toward professional licensure.\nProvide technical supervision and guidance to field crews and office technicians on assigned projects.\nWhat You Need to Succeed:\n8-10+ years of experience across all phases of professional land surveying, including public mapping experience such as Records of Survey, legal descriptions, and exhibits.\n\nProfessional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California required.\n\nBachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.\n\nComprehensive knowledge of California boundary law, the Subdivision Map Act, the Land Surveyors Act, right-of-way, and applicable survey standards.\n\nDemonstrated ability to serve in responsible charge of survey projects and sign and seal survey deliverables.\n\nStrong project-level technical leadership, client coordination, and communication skills.\n\nExperience directing and technically supporting field survey crews and office technicians.\n\nProficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.\n\nWorking knowledge of Trimble Business Center, StarNet, and Carlson is a plus.\n\nWorking knowledge of MicroStation and InRoads is a plus, but not required.\n\nStrong understanding of survey QA/QC processes and professional standards.\n\nValid California driver's license required.\n\nAbility to meet the physical requirements of the position, including close vision, occasional field visits involving walking over uneven terrain, and lifting up to 25 pounds.\n\nAbility to travel between offices and project sites as needed.\n\nCompensation:\nThe approximate compensation range for this position is $113,885 - 179,385 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
