This position will work on complex bridge projects and develop innovative practical solutions to various structural design challenges in Georgia and throughout the country. In this highly technical role, you will lead and perform design and analysis as well as other structural engineering tasks for bridge systems and components.\nWhat You'll Do:\nPerform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations.\nLead bridge/structural tasks as part of project development, including plan and report production.\nDevelop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans using a variety of GDOT and industry-standard software packages.\nAssist and check design calculations performed by others.\nPrepare geometric/bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.\nDevelop, establish, and maintain relationships with our employees, clients, and other industry-related organizations and stakeholders.\nTrain other structural engineering staff with less experience.\nCollaborate with other technical experts throughout the country. \nSuccessfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, geotechnical, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.\nFeel a sense of pride in knowing that you are helping to address some of our nation’s most critical infrastructure challenges while building the future of our organization! \nWhat You Need to Succeed:\nBachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree is highly preferred.\n10+ years of experience in structural engineering with 6+ years working on Georgia DOT Projects.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) licensed in the State of Georgia or ability to obtain in six (6) months.\nStrong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles.\nExperience with AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI and other North American design codes.\nExperience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, and knowledge of staged construction analysis.\nSolid background and understanding of Structural engineering software packages like: MDX, Leap Concrete Connect, MIDAS, FB Pier, etc.\nPreferred experience with engineering design software, i.e., programs such as STAAD, LPILE, CSI Bridge, Open Bridge Designer, MicroStation V8i, etc.\nExperience with Design-Build delivery, preferred.\nExperience with GDOT bridge policy and plan preparation is required.\nCompensation:\nThe approximate compensation range for this position is $106,000 to $153,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
