In this highly visible role, you’ll serve as a client-facing technical leader-driving project delivery, strengthening key relationships, and guiding solutions that protect people, assets, and mission-critical operations. You’ll have the full support of Michael Baker’s nationwide Fire Protection Engineering team while maintaining the autonomy to grow and lead our presence in the region.\nYou’ll engage with fire protection projects from concept through commissioning-developing proposals, leading system designs, conducting site evaluations, and overseeing testing and acceptance. Your work will span a diverse portfolio of systems including fire sprinklers, pumps, high-expansion foam, clean agents, fire alarm, and mass notification. Projects serve a broad range of industries such as the Department of Defense, data centers, industrial and manufacturing facilities, and commercial clients-allowing you to apply your expertise to complex and highly technical environments.\nWhat You'll Do:\nBusiness development and client management\n\nBe responsible for proposal preparation, project budgets and project work schedules \nPerform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and fire pump design \nAnalyze life safety requirements for buildings, including building code compliance, occupant load calculations and egress analysis \nPerform on-site system evaluations and perform final system testing \nCoordinate designs with other engineering disciplines \nBusiness Development:\nGrow revenue from existing client base through ensuring high quality work products and regular client interactions.\nAttend local industry events to create and maintain networking connections.\nIdentify and win new work from new and existing clients.\nClient Management:\nCommunicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical expertise.\nPresent project proposals and updates to clients.\nEnsure client satisfaction through effective project delivery.\nWhat You Need to Succeed:\nRegistered Professional Engineer in Fire Protection\n8+ years professional experience\nBS or MS in Fire Protection Engineering or related field \nExperience in fire protection system design including: fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, clean agent systems, high expansion foam systems, fire alarm and mass notification systems \nExperience in computer generated hydraulic design \nKnowledge and experience of building and design codes, specifically IBC, NFPA 101, NFPA 13 and NFPA 72 \nUS Citizen Required\nCOMPENSATION\nThe approximate compensation range for this position is $111,000 to $146,000 annually. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
