Woodburn is a small town located about 30 minutes east of Fort Wayne, IN. Fort Wayne is the cultural and economic center of northeastern Indiana and the second largest city in Indiana. Established in 1961, our plant makes passenger and light truck tires.\nTHE OPPORTUNITY\nMichelin has an immediate opening for a Quality Process Engineer who will be responsible for leading and handling optimization of their designated manufacturing process within our facility. If respect for people, teamwork and trust are some values you live by you should consider joining us, the Worldwide leader in Tires!\nWHAT WILL YOU DO\nEnsure product and process quality by monitoring performance/testing, conducting diagnostic tests, establishing standards, and confirming alignment with the standards. \nApply hands on technical problem solving skills to existing processes with quality problems. \nLead the application of root cause analysis in problem solving/deviation from standards. \nFollow up on process capability take part in ensuring permanent improvements are made. \nMentor production operators and other team members to improve application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation. \nDrive progress towards process optimization by analyzing performance data then developing and deploying engineering solutions and new testing methods. \nProvide mentorship and support to the teams through quality expertise, leading and facilitating the new product industrializations, and quality impact of changes. \nParticipate in Product Quality Planning (impact analysis, preliminary capability, FMEA, Quality Plan, training needs). \nMeet the quality and productivity performances defined by the shop using “Right the first time” principles. \nTake part in project planning for changes to products, materials, processes, and methods. \nWHAT WILL YOU BRING\nExperience in industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, project, or related technical experience is a plus. For Entry Level, this can include internship, Co-op, apprentices, military service, or similar programs. \nAbility to interact in a professional manner with suppliers, customers, and colleagues. \nDemonstrated attention to detail and data accuracy in previous work. \nSuccess in working with other people or team to meet a common objective. \nEffective problem-solving skills to analyze, find the root cause, and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce the risk of the problem happening again. \nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite (Word, Excel, tools for creating presentations) and ability to learn other software systems. \n3-5 years’ experience in engineering, production management, quality, or process improvement in a manufacturing environment is preferred. \nB.S.
