The role works at the intersection of software development, system architecture, and project management to ensure the successful development and deployment of software solutions that address a wide range of challenges and requirements. The role optimizes software systems for enhanced performance, scalability, and resource efficiency to deliver an optimal end-user experience.\n\nResponsibilities:\nInstalls, configures, tests, and manages GitHub Enterprise Cloud/Server environments, with a high degree of expertise and independence.\nMonitors and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, and works to implement those fixes.\nWrites and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portions of the application; identifies, debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.\nCreates and maintains detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals.\nLeads a project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for assigned system portions or subsystems.\nCollaborates and communicates with management, internal teams, and partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.\nRepresents the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more complex development projects.\nProvides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.\nSupports SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and other compliance tasks, including access reviews and evidence collection for controls.\n\nEducation & Experience Recommended:\nFour-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.\nTypically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in systems engineering, computer programming language, or a related field, or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.\n\nPreferred Certifications:\nCertified Software Systems Engineer (CSSE)\nCertified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)\n\nKnowledge & Skills:\nAgile Methodology\nAmazon Web Services (IAM, networking, compute, etc.)\nApplication Programming Interface
