People like you.\nVisit our careers page to see what exciting opportunities and company perks await!\nJob Description:\nPosition Summary\nThe Engineer I - Foundry (Wafer Foundry Management) role develops early-career talent to support Microchip’s foundry strategy, supplier competitiveness, cost management, and supply resiliency.\nThis position translates pricing, contract terms, market data, and Business Unit needs into insights that support supplier negotiations and leadership decisions.\nKey Responsibilities\nCommercial Governance and Contract Readiness\nMaintain agreements, NDAs, renewals, and negotiation records.\nTrack milestones, pricing updates, terms, and supplier commitments.\nCoordinate Legal and cross-functional reviews.\nPrepare negotiation packages with terms, benchmarks, and decision points.\nCost Management and Negotiation Support\nAnalyze wafer, mask, and NRE costs for sourcing and negotiations.\nProvide cost guidance for planning, margins, and platform decisions.\nEvaluate supplier pricing and identify cost or leverage opportunities.\nSupport price reviews with trend analysis and negotiation materials.\nTrack special pricing, rebates, and negotiated value.\nBusiness Unit and Technology Roadmap Support\nSupport cost estimates, platform evaluations, streamout pricing, resiliency, and sourcing options.\nSupport RFI/RFQ activities for new technologies and suppliers.\nExecutive Reporting and Decision Support\nGenerate price trend reports and dashboards.\nMaintain pricing scorecards for management visibility.\nSupport mask spend forecasting and budget planning.\nTrack savings and value creation from negotiations and sourcing initiatives.\nSupply Resiliency and Risk Management\nAssess supply resiliency across key technologies, suppliers, and dependencies.\nSupport risk mitigation to improve supply continuity.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nEducation and Foundation\nMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an MBA.\n0-2.5 years of professional experience.\nTechnical and Analytical Capability\nFoundational understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.\nBasic understanding of supply chain, sourcing, and supplier operations.\nStrong quantitative and business insight skills.\nExcel proficiency for financial modeling and cost analysis.\nTableau experience is a plus.\nBusiness Judgment and Commercial Orientation\nInterest in negotiations, supplier strategy, sourcing, and business operations.\nAbility to interpret pricing data and frame business implications.\nStrong attention to detail, ownership, and follow-through.\nCommunication\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nComfortable working with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%Physical Attributes:\nHearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:\n80% sitting, 10% standing, 10% walking, 100% insideMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmativeaction employer.
