In this role, the candidate will work as a C++ software developer in the L1 Quality Assurance (QA) team to enhance and maintain a custom framework for validating storage solutions in a fast paced, non-stop, automated test environment.\nResponsibilities:\nHelp design, develop, and maintain an ever-expanding automation QA framework and suite of test cases and tools that use system-level and custom IOCTL calls to validate a complete data center storage solution\n\nUnderstand product implementation and expected product behaviors by reading specifications and source code\n\nDevelop automated tests for validating new solutions and feature sets\n\nImprove the efficiency and capabilities of the QA automated test framework\n\nWork with QA and Development teams to debug and triage both test case and product failures\n\nMaintain servers and other hardware/software components used for continuous automated testing\n\nWork with QA and Development teams to track and provide estimates for tasks by utilizing and following the Agile methodology\n\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering\n\n2+ years of proven programming experience using C++ and Bash Shell scripting\n\nKnowledge of Object-Oriented Design and programming best practices\n\nStrong analysis and debug skills\n\nExperience working in multi-threaded environments\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n\nExperience working with Linux operating systems\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAble to apply memory management techniques in low-memory environments\n\nFamiliarity with server storage technologies and concepts (RAID, SCSI, etc.)\n\nIn addition to strong C++ coding experience, experience with Java, Python, and/or Perl is a plus\n\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%Physical Attributes:\nClimbing, Crouching, Hearing, Kneeling, Lifting, Pushing, Seeing, Stooping, Talking, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:\nStanding 10%, Walking 10%, Sitting 80%, Inside 100%, M-F 8-5pmMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmativeaction employer.
