Our Senior Technical Support Engineers serve an integral role in troubleshooting, technical guidance, and post-sales support for Microchip’s Frequency and Time Systems (FTS) products. Our preferred candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong technical expertise in timing and synchronization systems, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer support in high-stakes environments.\nSenior Technical Support Engineer primary functions include, but are not limited to:\nDevelop expertise in Primary Reference Standards, including atomic clocks, to assist customers in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.\nInterpret schematics, assembly drawings, production and manufacturing procedures to diagnose and resolve product issues.\nTroubleshoot FTS timing and synchronization systems, guiding customers through fault identification and resolution.\nLog cases in the Salesforce CRM system, ensure accurate records and provide timely updates.\nProvide solutions for customer issues and escalating critical cases when necessary to ensure rapid resolution.\nCommunicate effectively and professionally with customers and provide clear technical guidance.\nProactively communicate with technical support management regarding case status and escalations.\nDocument solutions and maintain up-to-date records of customer cases.\nFocus on post-sales technical engagements for Microchip FTS products.\nProvide front-line technical and applications support to customers and internal sales teams.\nDeliver technical presentations and training tailored to customer requirements, emphasizing the scalable features of Microchip FTS equipment.\nPerform data analysis using proprietary software tools to support troubleshooting and solutions development.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nQualifications:\nBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.\nMinimum five years of relevant industry experience.\nStrong working knowledge of frequency references, protocols, and network timing technologies including NTP, PTP, IRIG, GPS, GNSS, network synchronization, and test methodologies.\nExperience in data analysis and ability to troubleshoot timing, synchronization and electronic/RF systems.\nProficiency in interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, and manufacturing procedures.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to engage customers via phone or web-based conference calls.\nProficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong organizational skills and a systematic, detail-oriented approach to problem solving.\nAbility to produce results independently and collaborate in a team environment.\nSelf-motivated with strong time management and prioritization skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n5 + years of technical support or customer service experience.\nExperience supporting customers in telecommunications, aerospace, defense, or critical infrastructure sectors.\nExperience delivering technical presentations or customer training sessions.\nMicrochip is an EEO/AAP employer, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental disability, marital status, or status as a disabled veteran.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%To all recruitment agencies: Microchip Technology Inc. does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
