People like you.\nVisit our careers page to see what exciting opportunities and company perks await!\nJob Description:\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking an accomplished and technically strong Technical Staff Engineer - Verification to provide technical leadership for the verification of next-generation Ethernet Switch and PCIe Switch SoCs. This role is focused on complex, high-performance designs integrating Ethernet, PCIe, ARM/MIPS CPU subsystems, and AMBA-based interconnect fabrics (AXI/AHB/APB).\nThe ideal candidate will drive verification strategy and execution across IP, subsystem, and full-SoC levels using SystemVerilog UVM as the primary verification methodology. This role requires deep expertise in scalable verification architecture, coverage-driven methodologies, protocol compliance, and system-level debug.\nAs a senior technical leader, the candidate will influence verification methodologies, mentor engineers across teams, collaborate with architecture and design leadership, and help drive first-silicon success for complex networking and connectivity products. Experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools for verification productivity and debug acceleration is highly desirable.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide technical leadership for verification of complex Ethernet and PCIe Switch SoCs, including datapath, control-plane, management, and CPU subsystems.\n\nDefine and drive verification architecture, methodologies, and best practices across projects and teams.\n\nLead verification of ARM/MIPS CPU subsystems and AMBA-based interconnect fabrics including AXI, AXI-Lite, AHB, and APB.\n\nArchitect scalable and reusable SystemVerilog UVM environments, agents, scoreboards, protocol checkers, and coverage frameworks.\n\nDrive comprehensive verification planning and execution covering:\nPCIe subsystem functionality:\n\nLink training and LTSSM\n\nEnumeration and configuration space\n\nError handling and recovery\n\nNTB and hot-plug support\n\nAMBA protocol verification:\n\nCorner-case and error scenarios\n\nCPU subsystem validation:\n\nBoot and reset sequences\n\nRegister access and RAL integration\n\nDMA and memory interactions\n\nInterrupt and timer verification\n\nDevelop advanced constrained-random, directed, and scenario-based verification strategies for realistic traffic and system workloads.\n\nDrive functional, code, assertion, and cross-coverage closure with metrics-driven methodologies.\n\nDebug complex system-level issues spanning RTL, firmware interactions, AMBA fabrics, protocol layers, and UVM infrastructure.\n\nLeverage AI-assisted tools for regression triage, debug automation, coverage analytics, and intelligent test optimization.\n\nCollaborate closely with architecture, RTL, firmware, validation, emulation, and physical design teams.\n\nMentor and technically guide verification engineers across multiple experience levels.\n\nDrive continuous improvement in:\nRegression infrastructure\n\nReusability and scalability\n\nSimulation and debug productivity\n\nContribute to verification roadmap planning and methodology standardization across programs.\n\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.\nTypically 12+ years of ASIC/SoC verification experience with increasing technical leadership responsibilities.\nExpert-level proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM including:Advanced UVM architecture\nReusable verification components\nScoreboards and predictors\nFunctional coverage modeling\nSequence layering and virtual sequences\nUVM RAL methodology\n\nStrong expertise in verifying AMBA-based interconnect fabrics (AXI, AXI-Lite, AHB, APB).\nProven experience verifying Ethernet and/or PCIe-based SoCs.\nStrong understanding of ARM and/or MIPS CPU architectures and subsystem integration.\nDeep understanding of:SoC architecture and integration\nMemory hierarchies and DMA\nInterrupt and coherency mechanisms\nHigh-performance interconnect behavior\n\nExtensive experience with industry-standard simulators and debug tools:VCS\nQuesta\nXcelium\n\nStrong scripting and automation expertise using Python, Perl, Tcl, or equivalent.\nExcellent analytical, debugging, communication, and technical leadership skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with:SoC-level verification closure\nMulti-IP subsystem integration\n\nExperience integrating firmware/software-driven verification flows.\nExposure to AI/ML-based verification tools for:Intelligent debug\nCoverage optimization\nAutomated failure classification\nTest generation\n\nExperience building or driving metrics-driven verification environments.\nPrior experience mentoring teams or leading technical initiatives across projects.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%To all recruitment agencies: Microchip Technology Inc. does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
