This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in touch interface technology, work directly with global customers, and contribute to next-generation products while learning from experienced engineers across multiple disciplines.\nAs part of our Applications Engineering team, you will help develop and support industry-leading capacitive touch solutions, working across hardware, software and system-level challenges to bring innovative products to market.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead applications engineering activities for new maXTouch® product developments, including validation, characterization and technical documentation.\nDesign and develop evaluation boards, reference hardware and custom test equipment.\nCreate and enhance engineering tools, automation solutions and test utilities using C# and Python.\nLeverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, troubleshooting and workflow efficiency.\nSupport customers worldwide by diagnosing technical issues, optimizing designs and delivering innovative solutions.\nDeliver technical training, demonstrations and application support both remotely and on-site.\nCollaborate across hardware, software, test and product teams to help shape next-generation capacitive touch technologies.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nWhat We're Looking For\nDegree-qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline (HND with significant relevant experience also considered).\nAn early-career engineer with 0-7 years of post-graduate experience, looking to continue building technical expertise and customer-facing skills.\nExperience in electronic circuit design, debugging, validation and laboratory-based investigation of analogue and digital systems.\nKnowledge of PCB schematic design, hardware development and electronic test methodologies.\nSoftware development experience in C#, Python and/or embedded C.\nExperience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or similar technologies to improve engineering productivity and workflow efficiency.\nComfortable using oscilloscopes, soldering equipment and other electronic laboratory instrumentation.\nStrong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in global multi-disciplinary teams.\nSelf-motivated with a high level of ownership, initiative and a desire to continuously learn and develop.\nWhy Join Microchip?\nJoin a collaborative global engineering team developing innovative touch technologies used in products around the world.
