In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams and provide technical leadership to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our grid systems that support critical Electronic Design Automation (EDA) workloads.\nThis position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, collaborating with diverse engineering teams, and continuously improving large-scale computing environments.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nEvaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing clustered compute systems and develop strategies to enhance performance, scalability, and utilization.\nServe as a primary technical contact for end users, providing guidance on running simulations and promoting best practices across the user community.\nDesign, write, and maintain software to drive, tune, and monitor EDA workloads within the compute grid.\nCreate and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation related to compute grid infrastructure and EDA workflows.\nResearch emerging software and systems technologies to support recommendations and purchasing decisions.\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure secure, stable, and optimized grid operations.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nSkills and Experience You’ll Need\nMinimum of2.5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or High-Performance Computing role.\nHands-on experience with job schedulers such asLSF, SGE, RTDA,SLURM or similar.\nStrong proficiency withUnix/Linux operating systems and file systems.\nFundamental programming and scripting skills usingcsh, Bash, Perl, Python, Tcl, and/orC/C++.\nDevOps or GIT/Jenkins workflow experience a plus\nExperience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and suites fromCadence, Synopsys, and Siemens.\nFamiliarity withMachine Learning and Artificial Intelligence frameworks (e.g.,LLM, TensorFlow) is a plus.\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently identify and resolve compute grid issues.\nAbility to define and implement processes that maintain system performance and promote best practices.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\nProven ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with team members.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%Physical Attributes:\nHearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:\n80% sitting, 10% walking, 10% standingMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmativeaction employer.
