This position will have a primary focus on New Product Development (NPD) and sustaining engineering for Microchip's SPG. The ideal candidate will think critically and strategically, communicate effectively, be influencing, have strong problem solving and technical skills, and be able to learn, utilize, or implement new methods, processes, and equipment.\nThe Product Engineer is a key part of the Product Development team closely collaborating with cross functional groups that include Product Design, Test Engineering, Quality, Failure Analysis, Yield Enhancement Engineering as well as others in order to deliver high quality Security Products to the market.\nMicrochip’s Secure Products Group develops and supports a line of cryptographic hardware products for Automotive, IOT, Medical, Consumer, and Industrial markets.\nJob Responsibilities:\nAct as Project Manager or provide support to a Project Manager for New Product Development to release new products for production\nAssume ownership of assigned products in production to monitor and sustain product performance and profitability\nProvide technical assistance for customer returns as needed\nProvide support to other team members for various product support needs as assigned\nPrepare overall project, characterization, qualification plans, and product documentation\nValidate and characterize silicon\nParticipate in new product development teams and track project progress from project kick-off to release to production\nEnsure devices are manufacturable and are setup correctly in the production system\nDebug problems in an organized and efficient manner\nTeam lead in root cause analysis and problem solving efforts\nPerform other job related tasks as directed by the manager.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nBSEE, MSEE, or equivalent, with 2.5 - 5 years of industry experience.\nFamiliarity with product life cycles a plus\nProven debug and problem solving skills\nStrong written and oral communication skills\nHigh proficiency with Microsoft tools to include Word, Excel, and Power Point\nFamiliarity with setup and use of lab test equipment\nAbility to work individually, with local team members, and with off-site and cross-functional teams\nAbility to analyze and present data with clarity and proficiency\nProficient in the use of standard office computer equipment and business applications.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%Physical Attributes:\nFeeling, Handling, Hearing, Other, Reaching, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:\nMonday - Friday 8 hours/day, 100% inside, 70% sitting, 20% standing, 10% walkingPay Range:\nWe offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry.
