People like you.\nVisit our careers page to see what exciting opportunities and company perks await!\nJob Description:\nReporting to the Equipment/ Facilities engineering Manager, you will be an integral part of the operations team based in Caldicot, South Wales (UK).\nYou will be responsible for proactive and reactive maintenance on modern manufacturing and facility equipment. The role will be varied and will involve installing and supporting new and existing equipment.\nMicrochip's Caldicot site is responsible for designing and delivering the next generation of advanced electronic module solutions for global technology markets. Our markets include medical applications, automotive, aerospace and renewable energy. If you have a willingness to take on responsibility but with a flexible attitude to work, we welcome the opportunity to speak to you.\nMain Duties and Responsibilities\nMaintenance, troubleshooting and installation of high value manufacturing and facility equipment.\nWriting and scheduling preventative maintenance activities, carrying out PM activities as required.\nIdentifying and controlling stock of critical spares, to include sourcing best process to reduce costs.\nSupport Manufacturing to ensure that production schedules, plans and customer deliveries are consistently achieved.\nBe active in continual improvement activities which would include OEE, safety, energy efficiency and equipment improvement\nAssist in identifying training needs and training of others, including mentoring and working with technicians and apprentices.\nCommunicating with other company functions on engineering projects and providing progress updates.\nFollowing all health and safety protocols\nTake on other engineering duties as required and assigned.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nIdeally have an HNC, HND in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or be a time served engineer with relevant academic qualifications.\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.\nBe self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, applying judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations and helping to identify solutions to nonstandard tasks and queries.\nBe able to interpret and understand mechanical drawings and schematics.\nHave effective communications skills acting as a source of technical expertise to make recommendations and share knowledge.\nBe able to prioritise and organise work to deliver to agreed deadlines.\nWork in a clean room environment.\nEnsure when carrying out any job function that it is done in accordance with all Health & Safety rules and regulations.\nBe PC literate including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word with the ability to produce reports and working instructions using these tools.\nDemonstrate a flexible attitude being prepared to work in any department on a variety of shift patterns where skills and business needs dictate.\nDesirable but not essential\nExperience working on Semiconductor or SMT manufacturing equipment.\nKnowledge and experience of working with PLCs and or pumps or condensers.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%To all recruitment agencies: Microchip Technology Inc. does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
