The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Applications team in providing technical support, writing applications notes, setting up lab equipment to analyze and recreate customer system problems, issuing device / data sheet errata, embedded firmware debug/development, assist with customer deliverables, and providing technical support. Candidate must be able to work independently, and in a team environment.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist with SAS/SATA/NVMe Protocol, RAID controller embedded firmware, OS drivers, and management software\n\nSupport PCIe, security, and encryption technologies\n\nAssist with customer and ODM requirements, design win support, deliverables, and initial system bring-up activities\n\nSupport channel customers, ecosystem partners, and distribution teams\n\nSetup and maintain system compatibility and debug lab\n\nMaintain knowledge base & issue tracking database\n\nPerform code updates\n\nWork independently, and in a team environment\n\nAssist with root cause & documenting customer issues in a timely manner\n\nDevelop and review customer level documentation including user guides, release notes, technical product training, and application notes\n\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering\n\nCoursework, academic projects, or internship experience in applications or software development\n\nBasic understanding of computer architecture\n\nScripting or automation knowledge (Python, Java, Tcl, other)\n\nSW programming experience (Java and C)\n\nExperience with installing OSes (Linux and Windows), setting up hardware and drivers\n\nGood writing and communication skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with driver development / embedded FW development\n\nExperience with Java NetBeans or Tcl/Tk scripting language is an asset\n\nFamiliarity with storage and protocols such as NVME, SAS/SATA, SCSI, TCP/IP is an asset\n\nFamiliarity with high-speed design and signal integrity concepts is an asset\n\nExperience with board-level debug & bring-up\n\nTravel Time:\nNo TravelPhysical Attributes:\nFeeling, Handling, Hearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:\n10% Standing, 10% Walking, 80% Sitting, 100% Inside-Monday-FridayMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmativeaction employer.
