The engineer will support microprocessor-based products used in tablets, desktops, notebooks, and embedded systems. In this role, you will contribute to all phases of applications development and deployment, including understanding product functions from design specifications, developing software and/or hardware to evaluate device functionality, and supporting customers in deploying product features. You will work closely with architects, designers, validation engineers, and customer-facing teams including marketing, sales, and FAEs.\nJob Responsibilities\nDevelop low-level MCU firmware modules, real-time kernel components, and host applications/utilities\nSupport customers in deploying SCG products\nPrepare technical documentation such as Application Notes, Design Guides, and User Manuals\nAssist in the design and support of customer-facing evaluation boards, including schematic review, layout input, and fabrication support\nTrain and support FAEs and customers\nSupport sales and marketing efforts, including creating demos and proof-of-concept platforms\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nJob Requirements\nProficiency in C and/or C++\nStrong understanding of embedded microprocessor design and internal architecture\nKnowledge of PC hardware architecture, I/O subsystems, address decoding, programmable peripheral ICs, and keyboard controllers\nProficiency in developing and debugging embedded microcontroller firmware\nStrong hardware/software integration skills and practical lab experience\nHands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment\nFamiliarity with Zephyr RTOS\nFamiliarity with Cryptography\nSelf-motivated, project-oriented, and able to work effectively in cross-functional teams\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills\nWillingness and ability to understand and apply industry-standard specifications such as eSPI, LPC, QSPI, I2C/SMBus, I3C, USB, MCTP, PECI, PCI, cryptographic security functions, and CAN\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.\n10 years of relevant industry experience\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and global teams.\nFluent in Japanese (JLPT N1 certification or equivalent) and good English skills (TOEIC 750 or higher)\nWillingness to travel as required to support customers, projects, and business objectives.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%To all recruitment agencies: Microchip Technology Inc. does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
