The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling customers to be successful with USB and PCIe products. Responsibilities include training sales and field engineers on the products, answering customer questions, debugging system implementation problems, writing documentation to make the products easy to use, and developing evaluation hardware to demonstrate the product features.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide direct technical support to sales and field application engineers as well as key strategic customers.\nWork with product marketing and end customers to understand product requirements and end goals and steer new product development to ensure product goals are met.\nAdvocate for new development of companion silicon products with peer business unit leaders to create Microchip total system solution.\nCoordinate with product marketers to initiate and maintain technical partnerships with other silicon vendors to provide joint collateral (e.g. reference schematics, evaluation & form-factor hardware designs) and collaborative pre-production customer support.\nDevelop and present technical training such as webinars, hands-on workshops, etc. to customers, sales and field application engineers.\nDeveloping collateral such as application notes, data sheets, reference designs, and other activities for new product development.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nThe Applications Engineer position has the following requirements -\nBachelors or Master of Science or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields, with at least 4 years of relevant experience.\nKnowledge and/or experience of the physical layer of high-speed serial communication systems and Signal Integrity.\nKnowledge of PCB board design and tools like Altium or other schematic and layout tools.\nKnowledge and basic understanding of basic electronic analog/digital mixed signal circuits\nKnowledge of various programming languages, including C, C++, Python and other embedded languages.\nExperience in customer support and customer enablement.\nKnowledge of USB-C signaling and general packet inspection techniques.\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%To all recruitment agencies: Microchip Technology Inc. does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
