The successful candidate will be working closely with the product development, validation, marketing, and sales teams to provide world-class technical customer support for the Datacenter and Server channel products. This will include assisting in design wins, supporting customer product ramp & production, documenting complex systems issues, and working with development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. These activities require the ability to work and gather information across functional groups, external customers, and product programs to determine the optimal solutions for our North American and International customers.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport SAS/SATA/NVMe Protocol, RAID controller embedded firmware, OS drivers, and management software\n\nSupport PCIe, security, and encryption technologies\n\nWork closely with Tier 1 OEMs and their ODMs to define requirements, assisting in design wins, manage deliverables and support initial system bring-up to full production\n\nWork closely with channel customers, ECO System partners, and distribution\n\nPublishing & maintaining system compatibility lists, SW releases, release notes, and web postings\n\nMaintain knowledge base & issue tracking database\n\nWork independently, and in a team environment\n\nRoot cause & document customer issues in a timely manner independently or by leading a cross-functional team\n\nDevelop and review customer level documentation including user guides, release notes, technical product training, and application notes\n\nUnderstand customer requirements and drive them through the project management process\n\nProvide training as needed to end customers, MCHP FAEs, and MCHP sales\n\nTravel within North America and internationally, as needed, to work at customer sites to debug firmware and software\n\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 7.5+ years of directly related experience\nStrong understanding of PCIe/CXL, NVMe, SAS/SATA, SCSI, and other storage related technologies\nStrong technical leadership and teamwork\nStrong understanding of Web applications & customer service software\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with customer facing experience and presentation skills\nExperience with board-level debug\nExperience with bench top equipment such as protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and other storage or networking related test equipment\nAbility to effectively work with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical locations\nTier 1 customer facing experience and ability to understand requirements and drive them through the project management process\nProvide training as needed to end customers, Microchip Applications and FAEs\nProvide customer and field engineer support as needed\nMust demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated\nIndependent but also works well within the cross functional teams across multiple geographical locations\nCreative with attention to detail\nAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with RISC, MIPS, ARM based embedded processors\nExperience with storage accelerators\nExperience with AI/ML, deep learning, and natural language processing\nExperience working with Marketing and Sales teams\nUnderstanding of server BIOS functionality and device drivers\nExperience with server/storage firmware and software\nHardware and chip development/debug skills\nExperience with high-speed debug equipment like oscilloscopes, DCAJ and BERT\nDebugging skills and experience with kernel (Windbg), JTAG, serial port, Greenhills Debugger\nExperience in the Storage Industry\nTCP/IP knowledge/experience\nLocal Area Networking experience\nExperienced with Storage management (MCTP, BMC, etc.)\nHighly structured programming in C, C++, and TCL/TK or other scripting language\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%Physical Attributes:\nCarrying, Feeling, Hearing, Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Seeing, Talking, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:\n10% Standing, 10% Walking, 80% Sitting, 100% Inside-MF 8-5PMMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmativeaction employer.
