The successful candidate will be working closely with the product development, validation, marketing, and sales teams to provide world-class technical customer support for the Datacenter and Server products. This will include assisting in design wins, supporting customer product ramp & production, documenting complex systems issues, and working with development teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. These activities require the ability to work and gather information across functional groups, external customers, and product programs to determine the optimal solutions for our North American and International customers.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport SAS/SATA Protocol and RAID controller embedded firmware, OS drivers, and management software\n\nSupport PCIe, security, and encryption technologies\n\nWork closely with Tier 1 OEMs and their ODMs to define requirements, assisting in design wins, manage deliverables and support initial system bring-up to full production\n\nWork independently, and in a team environment\n\nRoot cause & document customer issues in a timely manner independently or by leading a cross-functional team\n\nDevelop and review customer level documentation including user guides, release notes, technical product training, and application notes\n\nUnderstand customer requirements and drive them through the project management process\n\nProvide training as needed to end customers and to MCHP FAEs.\n\nTravel within North America and internationally, as needed, to work at customer sites to debug firmware and software.\n\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 12.5+ years of relevant industry experience.\n\nExtensive understanding of SAS/SATA, SCSI, PCIe, RAID, CXL, NVMe, and other storage related technologies\n\nStrong technical leadership and teamwork\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with customer facing experience and presentation skills\n\nStrong software/firmware development and debug skills\n\nExperience with debugging Linux/Windows Operating System drivers and applications\n\nHighly structured programming skills in C, C++, and TCL/TK or other scripting language\n\nExperience with bench top equipment such as protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and other storage or networking related test equipment\n\nIndependent but also works effectively with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical locations\n\nMust demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated\n\nCreative with attention to detail\n\nAbility to multi-task and still meet deadlines\n\nProvide customer and field engineer support as needed\n\nAdditional Desired Skills:\nExperience with RISC, MIPS, ARM based embedded processors\n\nExperience with storage accelerators\n\nExperience with AI/ML, deep learning, and natural language processing\n\nHardware and chip development/debug skills\n\nExperience with high speed debug equipment like oscilloscopes, DCAJ and BERT\n\nExperience working with Marketing and Sales teams\n\nExperience in the Storage Industry\n\nTCP/IP knowledge/experience\n\nLocal Area Networking experience\n\nExperienced with Storage management (MCTP, BMC, etc.)\n\nExperience in SW/FW development with light weight embedded kernels (ThreadX, VxWorks, eCos, etc.)\n\nStrong debugging skills and experience with kernel (Windbg), EJTAG, serial port, Greenhills Debugger\n\nUnderstanding of server BIOS functionality and device drivers\n\nExperience with server/storage firmware and software\n\nTravel Time:\n0% - 25%Physical Attributes:\nFeeling, Handling, Hearing, Reaching, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:\n10% Standing, 10% Walking, 80% Sitting, 100% Inside-MF 8-5PMMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmativeaction employer.
