People like you.\nVisit our careers page to see what exciting opportunities and company perks await!\nJob Description:\nMicrochip Technology in Colorado Springs is looking for a skilled Technician to perform preventive maintenance, calibration and repair of various toolsets within the Microchip's Colorado Springs (MCSO) Test Operations and development areas of responsibility. This includes but is not limited to wafer probers, package handlers, ATE testers, ovens, and all associated equipment. This technician will support production and engineering personnel. This is a small group setting where interpersonal relations skills are important.\nMust be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.\nProvide clear and concise written and verbal communication with maintenance technicians, production, engineering and suppliers.\nSelf-motivated, with the integrity to work with limited supervision.\nSupport improvement activities/teams with active participation.\nFollow MCSO Test Operations manufacturing and safety protocol.\nApply appropriate diagnostic techniques to identify and correct common failures on equipment sets and work with other technicians or engineers to collect and analyze process data.\nUtilize available training materials and certification requirements to assist in meeting assigned personal improvement goals.\nInterface with OEM suppliers and contractors on completion of repairs.\nProvide input to assist with development and optimization of equipment preventive maintenance schedules.\nParticipate in work area team meetings.\nAttend training schools and sessions both on site and at suppliers’ facilities to obtain knowledge and experience with assigned equipment sets.\nShift: 2nd: 2:00pm-10:30pm M-F\nThe technician is responsible for maintaining equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. The equipment maintained is highly complex and contains subsystems such as:\nPower distribution and control systems\nPneumatic and control systems\nMotor (stepper) and control systems\nRobotic and control systems\nVacuum and control systems\nTemperature and control systems\nElectro-mechanical drive/control systems\nAC and DC conversion and control systems\nSignal monitoring and control systems\nGas delivery and control systems\nRF delivery, RF matching and control systems\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nQualifications/Requirements\n2+ years’ work-related experience/training required\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required\nAS technical degree, electronics or Military electronics certificate preferred\nMinimum qualifications include:\nAbility to perform PM and general maintenance on electro-mechanical production equipment.\nAbility to work from schematics, mechanical drawings, or written instructions.\nExperience in the use of multimeters, soldering irons and mechanical tools.\nAbility to read, write and communicate in English.\nAbility to use MS Office.\nExperience repairing semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment.\nElectro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to interface with parts or service vendors.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with electrical and/or mechanical equipment repair.\nExperience repairing Probe or Fab equipment.\nMust be flexible to move to a traditional A, B, C, or D shift when production is moved to compressed scheduling.
