Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.\nPosition Overview\nMicron Singapore is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Senior Engineer / Staff Engineer - Construction to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, specification, installation, commissioning, and optimization of high-purity chemical and gas delivery systems in semiconductor manufacturing facilities. This role ensures safe handling, efficient distribution, and compliance with all relevant codes and safety regulations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign & Engineering\nDesign chemical and slurry delivery systems, including storage, distribution piping, process integration, and effluent scrubber units, ensuring stringent purity and safety requirements for semiconductor fabrication.\nDevelop detailed engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications for all chemical and slurry systems.\nPerform flow, pressure, and compatibility calculations to optimize system efficiency.\nSpecify critical components and ensure designs meet all applicable codes and regulations (NFPA, FM, UBC, UFC, UMC, IBC, IMC, IFC, NEC, SEMI, OSHA, NEA etc).\nConduct research and development on emerging facilities and technologies to support advanced semiconductor processes.\nConstruction Support & Installation Oversight\nProvide technical expertise during construction, guiding contractors on proper installation of chemical systems.\nReview and approve construction submittals, shop drawings, and contractor work plans.\nConduct on-site inspections to ensure installations meet design and regulatory standards.\nCoordinate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers for timely and compliant delivery of materials.\nSafety, Compliance & Risk Management\nEnsure all systems comply with relevant codes, industry standards, and regulations.\nDevelop and implement safety protocols, including emergency shutdown procedures, leak detection, and hazardous material storage.\nConduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and participate in FMEA and HAZOP reviews.\nEngineer safety into all designs and maintain good communication with all stakeholders.\nTesting, Commissioning & Continuous Improvement\nOversee testing and commissioning of chemical and slurry systems, including pressure tests, leak checks, and calibration.\nLead troubleshooting efforts for system startup issues and ensure systems function according to design.\nPrepare and maintain commissioning reports, as-built drawings, and operation manuals.\nIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement in system efficiency, safety, and cost optimization.\nVendor & Supplier Coordination\nLiaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure proper specification and delivery of materials.\nReview and approve vendor documentation, including SDS and equipment warranties.\nConduct vendor audits and assessments for quality and safety compliance.\nTraining & Documentation\nDevelop and deliver training for operations and maintenance personnel on safe handling and procedures for chemicals and gases.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response plans.\nEnsure all stakeholders have a clear understanding of system requirements and operational guidelines.\nJob Requirements\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.\nMinimum 5 years in chemical and gas system design and engineering in semiconductor or high-tech industries with strong knowledge of chemical and gas delivery systems\nStrong knowledge in safety standards\nOther: Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently, prioritize workload, and collaborate in a team environment. Service-oriented and self-motivated.
