You will develop expert-level knowledge of Micron and use this knowledge to deliver prescriptive, actionable solutions to stakeholders.\nBe responsible for conveying corporate business initiatives, providing direction thereof, and driving a clear understanding of line of sight to department and corporate strategic objectives within your team.\nLead research in and keep up to date on the latest developments and trends in data science tools and techniques.\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership & People Management\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists.\n\nSet clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career development.\n\nFoster a collaborative, high-accountability culture of experimentation and continuous learning.\n\nManage hiring, onboarding, and resource allocation across projects.\n\nSolution Development & Delivery\nOversee end-to-end solution development of models and tools for Yield/Quailtiy/Equip Efficiency/Labor Productivity, and AI tools/what-if analysis.\n\nDrive analytics for manufacturing value engineering-identifying the actionbable solutions to drive Site Goals.\n\nEnsure solutions are production-ready, scalable, and integrated into business workflows and decision-making.\n\nEstablish best practices for model development, validation, monitoring, and governance.\n\nAI Innovation & Emerging Technology\nDrive the evaluation and adoption of cutting-edge AI technologies, Generative AI (LLMs), AI agents and multi-agent systems, and emerging interoperability standards such as Agent-to-Agent (A2A) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).\n\nStay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape and translate new capabilities into practical, responsible business applications.\n\nQualifications\nRequired (not all need to be met):\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.\n\n5+ years of experience in data science / advanced analytics, 1+ year managing or leading teams will be a plus.\n\nProven track record of delivering data science solutions that drove measurable cost savings or cost impact.\n\nStrong proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern ML/statistical methods.\n\nExperience deploying models into production and working with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, etc.).\n\nHands-on familiarity with Generative AI / LLMs and an understanding of AI agents and agentic workflows.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese/English.\n\nSemiconductor industry experience is a strong plus\n\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
