This outstanding opportunity allows you to lead significant construction projects in a dynamic environment, contributing to Micron's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects mainly in Japan and across multiple sites, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain outstanding construction practices, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Drive construction cost management initiatives and ensure financial accountability in all construction activities.
  • Lead efforts with close collaboration with Indirect Construction Procurement to improve optimum construction procurement strategies, ensuring the selection of high-quality materials and services.
  • Coordinate commissioning processes to ensure facilities are operational and meet all performance criteria before handover.
  • Implement comprehensive risk management practices to identify, mitigate, and manage construction risks effectively.
  • Collaborate with leaders and teams from Global, Regional, and Site Facilities, Global EHSS, Global Procurement, Corporate Finance, and external agencies. Build strong working relationships to help projects succeed.
  • Assure company procedures, business conduct, and ethics policies are always aligned with.
  • Identify risks and adverse influences that can impact the outcome of a project to develop realistic delivery plans and ensure that goals are met.
  • Invest time in coaching and mentoring people, helping team members learn and grow.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Construction, Building, Project Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Professional certifications in construction management (e.g., PMP, CCM) or equivalent.
  • Experience as a construction project manager in EPCM projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Ability to integrate and work in a global multicultural team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly.
  • Cost and schedule management experience.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities for effective management and decision-making.

Minimum Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of 15 years of working experience, including 10 years in construction and at least 5 years in a managerial role as a Director.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplined semiconductor projects and/or other relevant industries is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in project control mechanisms and commercial and technical risk assessments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to visualize issues and communicate them to others.
  • Outstanding organization, coordination, and leadership skills - ability to coordinate and motivate groups of consultants/contractors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively in a team environment.
  • Proficient language skills in Japanese & English.
