This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving world-class safety management systems that support a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment.\nThe Director will partner closely with Facilities, Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Global EHS, and external regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, Micron EHS standards, and industry best practices while fostering a strong safety-first culture across the organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety Leadership & Strategy\nLead and manage site Safety and Occupational Health programs.\nChampion a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement, coaching, and employee involvement.\nEstablish annual safety goals, KPIs, and improvement plans aligned with site and corporate objectives.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve world-class EHS performance.\nRegulatory Compliance\nEnsure compliance with all applicable Indian statutory requirements, including Factories Act, Gujarat Factory Rules, and other EHS regulations.\nMaintain compliance with Micron Corporate EHS requirements and industry standards.\nInterface with government agencies, regulatory authorities, auditors, and emergency responders.\nRisk Management\nLead EHS risk assessments for operations, projects, equipment installations, and contractor activities.\nIdentify potential hazards and implement effective risk mitigation measures.\nConduct regular inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.\nTrack corrective and preventive actions to closure.\nIncident Prevention & Investigation\nLead incident, near-miss, and unsafe condition investigations.\nPerform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.\nMonitor trends and develop preventive strategies to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses.\nContractor & Construction Safety\nOversee contractor safety management programs.\nEnsure contractors and vendors comply with site safety requirements.\nPartner with Facilities and Construction teams to review safety requirements during project planning, installation, commissioning, and operational phases.\nEmergency Preparedness\nDevelop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.\nCoordinate drills for fire, chemical releases, medical emergencies, and other site-specific scenarios.\nCollaborate with internal emergency response teams and external agencies.\nSafety Systems & Governance\nManage EHS committees and governance forums.\nSupport and maintain EHS management systems aligned with ISO requirements.\nPrepare management reports, dashboards, and safety performance reviews.\nTraining & Awareness\nDevelop and deploy site-wide safety training programs.\nConduct awareness campaigns and leadership engagement activities.\nEnsure all employees, contractors, and visitors receive appropriate safety orientation and training.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.\nAdvanced qualification in Industrial Safety, Safety Engineering, or EH&S preferred.\nExperience\n20+ years of progressive EHS/Safety experience.\nMinimum 5 years in a leadership role within semiconductor, manufacturing, chemical, electronics, or high-tech industries.\nExperience supporting greenfield or large-scale manufacturing operations is highly desirable.\nCertifications (Preferred)\nDiploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety.\nCertified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, or equivalent.\nKnowledge of Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standards.\nKey Competencies\nStrategic Safety Leadership\nRegulatory Compliance Management\nRisk Assessment & Hazard Analysis\nIncident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis\nEmergency Response & Crisis Management\nStakeholder Management\nLeveraging Artificial Intelligence & Applying Artificial Intelligence\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich lifefor all.
