This role contributes to firmware quality by developing test methods, analyzing failures, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with firmware engineers to improve code quality and product reliability. Working under guidance with increasing independence, the engineer supports enterprise SSD product development through disciplined execution, test automation, and effective cross-functional communication.\nMain Responsibilities\nDevelop comprehensive firmware verification plans for SSD firmware features. \nExecute white-box, grey-box, and system-level testing methods to verify and validate firmware functionality. \nAnalyze regression failures and perform structured root-cause analysis for firmware-related issues. \nParticipate in code reviews and provide feedback that supports firmware quality and test coverage. \nCollaborate with firmware development engineers to improve code quality and product reliability. \nCommunicate technical challenges, solutions, and mitigation plans to cross-functional stakeholders. \nOther Responsibilities\nMaintain accurate documentation of test activities, findings, and validation results. \nSupport continuous improvement of firmware validation methodologies and test coverage. \nDevelop technical knowledge in SSD architecture, firmware testing, and storage technologies. \nAI Responsibilities\nIntegrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.\nContributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work. \nQualifications\nB.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent.\n2-3 years of experience in test development and validation (internship or academic project experience counts) \nTechnical Skills\nExperience with software testing concepts including white-box, grey-box, black-box, boundary, and regression testing. \nPython programming, scripting, debugging, and test framework development. \nFirmware verification, validation, and regression testing techniques. \nGit development flow and branch management. \nRoot-cause analysis and software defect investigation. \nBasic understanding of storage protocols and technologies. \nSoft Skills\nStructured problem-solving and analytical thinking. \nClear written and verbal communication skills. \nCross-functional collaboration and teamwork. \nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision. \nPreferred Skills\nKnowledge of PCIe, NVMe, NVMe-MI, and OCP specifications. \nExposure to SSD products, storage systems, or firmware validation environments. \nEmbody Micron’s Core Values\nPeople - Respect, develop, and empower others \nInnovation - Drive continuous improvement and breakthrough thinking \nTenacity - Show grit and determination \nCollaboration - Build trust and foster teamwork \nCustomer Focus - Deliver excellence and value \nSpeed - Act with purpose and set the pace\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich lifefor all.
