We work across simulation, FPGA, and hardware environments to validate modern storage technologies, build scalable automation, and drive continuous improvement in validation methodologies. Our team values technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation, including the use of AI-enabled tools to enhance engineering productivity and quality.\nThe Engineer (E2) on the Firmware & Product Testing (FPT) team supports the validation of enterprise SSD firmware through test development, automation, execution, and failure analysis.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and implement firmware verification plans for enterprise SSD customer requirements and NVMe features, including SMART, Trim, Get Log Page, and OCP compliance.\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test solutions using Python and FPT automation frameworks to improve test coverage and regression efficiency.\nInvestigate test failures, perform root cause analysis, document findings, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues.\nAnalyze test results and communicate quality metrics, risks, and mitigation plans to team members and management.\nParticipate in code reviews and continuous improvement efforts to enhance automation quality, maintainability, and testing effectiveness.\nUse AI-assisted development tools, Generative AI, and intelligent workflows to improve test development, debugging, data analysis, and reporting.\nCollaborate with firmware engineers, data scientists, and AI/ML teams to develop automation solutions for anomaly detection, failure analysis, and validation process improvements.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\nStrong Python programming skills with experience in automation, scripting, and data analysis using libraries such as NumPy and pandas.\nUnderstanding of software testing fundamentals, including test automation, debugging, and validation methodologies.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate technical issues and interpret data-driven results.\nExperience with, or a strong interest in, Artificial Intelligence (AI), including AI tools, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or AI-assisted software development workflows.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with NVMe protocols, SSD firmware validation, embedded systems, storage technologies, or hardware testing.\nFamiliarity with machine learning tools and techniques such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, anomaly detection, or predictive analytics.\nKnowledge of software development standard methodologies, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Agile development methodologies.\nExperience building or integrating AI-powered automation solutions using Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks, or AI copilots.\nHands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar productivity platforms.\nMicron Technology is committed to advancing memory and storage solutions through engineering excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and responsible innovation.\nThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:\n$81,000.00 - $137,000.00 a yearAdditional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.\nOur salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
