The lab uses advanced instrumentation and analytical techniques to deliver chemistry and materials analysis for engineering, manufacturing, and Facilities customers. In this role, you will lead the team and set technical direction so the lab runs safely, accurately, on time, and within budget. You will also advance next-generation metrology, automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions.\nResponsibilities\nLead, coach, and develop the lab team. Set clear objectives, manage performance, plan for succession, and build an inclusive, engaged culture.\nPromote a safety-first culture aligned with the Chemical Hygiene Plan, cleanroom, security, and quality requirements.\nStaff and run the lab so it delivers accurate, timely results, covering instrument maintenance, method development, data review, and LIMS records.\nOwn metrology strategy, acquisition, and lifecycle planning for analytical technologies that support current and next-generation materials and devices.\nDrive operational excellence through automation, workflow optimization, cycle-time improvement, and budget management.\nLead the integration of AI and agentic workflows to improve productivity, data analysis, and decision support, with strong attention to data quality, security, and human oversight.\nServe as the main customer contact for complex analyses. Partner with Technology Development, manufacturing, Facilities, Global Labs, HVM sites, universities, and vendors, and provide clear, executive-ready updates.\nBasic Qualifications\nBS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience.\nProven people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and talent development.\nExperience in analytical chemistry and semiconductor-relevant lab operations.\nHands-on experience or strong familiarity with ICP-OES/ICP-MS, IC, HPLC/LCMS, GC/GCMS, and molecular spectroscopy (FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, Raman).\nStrong project management, prioritization, and budget skills, plus a record of justifying and implementing technology improvements.\nProficiency with AI tools and LLMs, LIMS, data systems integration, and Microsoft Office.\nExcellent communication skills, including turning complex data into clear technical or executive summaries.\nAbility to work safely with hazardous chemicals and lead in lab and cleanroom settings.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree in a relevant field.\nBackground in statistics, data science, or advanced data acquisition and reduction software.\nExperience with lab automation and agentic workflow solutions.\nExperience supporting semiconductor Technology Development or high-volume manufacturing.\nExperience partnering with universities, suppliers, and global technical organizations.\nAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
