The primary focus of this position is to own the development and optimization of the packaging assembly processes to meet the schedule of business cases. To work on new product introduction and improving the yield, quality and reliability with process characterization and optimization and new materials, machines & technologies introduction. This position will also require you to drive continues improvement by improving the process margins and process capabilities. You will also be required to identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly process related problems by applying problem solving skills while Integrating AI and data-driven methodologies to enhance process understanding, enable predictive control, and accelerate decision-making in high-volume manufacturing.\nKey Responsibilities\nProcess Development & NPI\nOwn Process of Record (POR), process windows, and capability (CPK)\nDrive NPI qualification with strong first-pass success\nDefine process specifications: parameters, tool setup, conditions, tolerances\nProcess Optimization & Control\nApply DOE, SPC, Six Sigma to characterize and optimize processes\nIdentify key process variables and center processes for robustness\nDevelop process capability roadmap and drive continuous improvement\nProblem Solving & Yield Improvement\nLead RCA, FMEA, OCAP, and structured problem resolution\nPerform containment and implement corrective/preventive actions\nImprove yield, reliability, and process margins\nAI & Data-Driven Enablement\nLeverage AI/ML and analytics to: Predict yield trends and detect early excursions\nIdentify hidden process correlations and variation drivers\nEnable predictive process control and anomaly detection\n\nUtilize MES, equipment, and yield data to drive insights\nCollaborate with digital teams to deploy AI-enabled dashboards/tools\nTechnology & Innovation\nEvaluate and introduce new materials, equipment, and packaging technologies\nDrive cost reduction and productivity improvements\nSystems & Leadership\nDevelop control plans, quality metrics, and capability monitoring systems\nCoach and guide process teams; ensure safe operations\nCollaborate across PDE, Manufacturing, Yield, and Equipment teams\nQualifications\nExperience & Education\n8+ years in semiconductor process development / backend assembly\nMaster’s / PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Electrical Engineering\nCore Skills\nStrong expertise in: Assembly processes and packaging integration\nDOE, SPC, FMEA, RCA, Six Sigma\nStatistical analysis (JMP or equivalent)\n\nAI & Digital Skills\nWorking knowledge of data analytics / machine learning fundamentals\nExposure to Python, SQL, or analytics tools preferred\nAbility to apply AI insights to process engineering problems\nFamiliarity with Industry 4.0 / smart manufacturing concepts\nSuccess Profile\nDelivers high-CPK, robust processes with strong yield performance\nDrives measurable improvements in yield, cost, and process capability\nCombines deep process expertise with data-driven and AI-enabled decision-making\nLeads cross-functional execution for scalable manufacturing impact\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich lifefor all.
