Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.\nSenior Construction Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing building mechanical construction to achieve safety, cost, schedule, quality and sustainability objectives. Mechanical engineering and construction include (but not limited to) governance to ensure mechanical system serving semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments. The role ensures cost and budget planning, monitoring and controlling that cleanroom HVAC, exhaust, chilled water, fire protection, CDA, PCW and any other dry and wet mechanical utility systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and handed over in compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical Standards, contamination-control requirements, safety regulations, and Fab milestones including Cleanroom Pressurization, Ready For Equipment (RFE), and Ready For Manufacturing (RFM). Additional responsibilities include facilities maintenance, facilities administration and mechanical related maintenance, documentation and administration.\nResponsibilities and Tasks\nTechnical Leadership & Engineering Oversight\nAs the discipline lead for mechanical systems including: Cleanroom HVAC and recirculation systems\nMake-up air units (MAUs), FFUs, interstitial plenums\nProcess exhaust systems (General, Acid, Solvent, Toxic) \nChilled water, process vacuum, and mechanical utilities\n\nReview and approve mechanical design packages, specifications, and technical submissions.\nEnsure full compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical and Cleanroom standards.\nConstruction Execution & Coordination\nLead mechanical coordination with Electrical, I&C, Process, CSA, and tool-hookup teams.\nResolve complex site engineering issues and cross-discipline conflicts.\nSupport construction sequencing critical to cleanroom integrity and contamination control.\nChair or lead mechanical coordination and cleanroom readiness meetings.\nChange Management & Technical Authority\nLead the discussion for mechanical RFIs, deviations, and field changes.\nEvaluate change impacts to system performance, cleanroom conditions, safety, cost, and schedule.\nSupport change approval processes with technical justifications.\nCommissioning, RFE & RFM Readiness\nLead mechanical readiness for: Cleanroom blowdown and pressurization stages\nTemperature, humidity, pressure, and airflow compliance\nRFE and RFM milestone achievement\n\nReview and approve mechanical commissioning plans and test results.\nEnsure mechanical systems are stable and production-ready before handover.\nHandover & Operations Support\nReview and approve mechanical as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and turnover packages.\nSupport transition to Facilities Operations and reliability teams.\nCapture lessons learned and support standard improvements.\nSafety & EHS Leadership\nProvide mechanical discipline leadership for safety reviews and hazard assessments.\nEnsure exhaust, gas room ventilation, and hazardous systems meet safety and regulatory requirements.\nIntegrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.\nContributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.\n8-12+ years of experience in semiconductor fab, cleanroom, or high-tech industrial projects.\nProven experience leading cleanroom HVAC, exhaust, and utility systems through commissioning and handover.\nStrong understanding of contamination control principles.\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich lifefor all.
