Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking a Facilities Engineer to lead engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives across critical facility systems that support advanced semiconductor manufacturing. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of facility infrastructure while supporting site growth and operational excellence.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, support infrastructure expansion projects, drive digitalization initiatives, and achieve site, departmental, and corporate objectives.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety, Compliance & Reliability\nChampion environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance across all facility operations.\nConduct risk assessments and promote a culture of safety and operational discipline.\nPerform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to eliminate single points of failure and improve system resilience.\nLead post-incident reviews and implement corrective and preventive actions for system abnormalities.\nEngineering & Maintenance\nLead the commissioning, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of critical facility systems.\nProvide technical support for complex operational issues and production interruptions.\nApply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why analysis to identify root causes and drive sustainable solutions.\nMaintain system performance, reliability, and equipment history records to support continuous improvement.\nProjects & Capacity Planning\nLead or support infrastructure upgrades, expansion projects, and quality improvement initiatives.\nReview scope, schedule, and cost estimates while providing engineering oversight during design and construction phases.\nPerform capacity planning and system performance analysis to support future manufacturing growth and production demand.\nContinuous Improvement & Digitalization\nDrive initiatives focused on reliability improvement, energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational excellence.\nDeploy smart technologies, predictive diagnostics, and digital tools to improve system intelligence and team productivity.\nIntegrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness.\nContribute to continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements.\nCollaboration & Leadership\nCollaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.\nMentor and develop technicians and engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.\nDemonstrate leadership, ownership, and accountability in achieving organizational goals.\nIntegrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.\nContributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.\nTechnical Areas\nCandidates may be assigned to one or more of the following areas:\nElectrical Systems\nHigh, Medium, and Low Voltage (HV/MV/LV) Power Distribution\nEmergency Generators and Dynamic UPS Systems\nPower Quality Systems\nETAP and Electrical Reliability Engineering\nElectrical Infrastructure Expansion Projects\nMechanical Systems\nHVAC and Cleanroom Air Systems\nProcess Cooling Water Systems\nChillers, Cooling Towers, Boilers, and Compressed Air Systems\nExhaust and Scrubber Systems\nFire Protection Systems\nEnergy Efficiency and Sustainability Projects\nControl & SMART Facility Systems\nPLC and SCADA Systems\nInstrumentation and Process Control\nToxic Gas Monitoring Systems\nSmart Facility Technologies and Predictive Maintenance\nData Analytics, Automation, and Digitalization Solutions\nRequirements:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Engineering Science, or a related discipline.\nStrong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills.\nEffective communicator with the ability to collaborate across all levels.\nGrowth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.\nInternship or experience within semiconductor, manufacturing, facilities, utilities, automation, or related industries is an advantage.\nFamiliarity with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, DOE, or engineering statistical analysis is preferred.\nKnowledge of PLC, SCADA, ETAP, automation, programming, database systems, or sustainability initiatives is advantageous.\nDemonstrated leadership potential and a track record of impact are highly desirable.\nInterest in semiconductor manufacturing and Micron is preferred.\nAbility to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.\nEmbody Micron's Core Values: People -
