The role combines semiconductor expertise, quantitative modeling, scenario analysis, and cross-functional leadership to help drive technology, equipment, capacity, and capital decisions across Micron's FE network. You will partner closely with Technology Development (TD), Manufacturing, Engineering, and Planning teams to translate complex business and technical challenges into actionable plans and measurable results.\nKey Responsibilities\nModeling & Analysis\nDevelop and improve planning models that quantify equipment, capacity, space, and capital requirements.\nCreate decision frameworks that connect technology needs, cost, risk, and manufacturing readiness.\nConduct scenario analysis to evaluate manufacturing strategies, technology roadmaps, and long-term capacity plans.\nIdentify trends, risks, opportunities, and trade-offs that impact business and manufacturing performance.\nMulti-Functional Leadership\nPartner with Technology Innovation and Manufacturing teams to optimize technology, process, and equipment roadmaps. \nCoordinate project execution across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Planning organizations.\nAlign collaborators on requirements, ownership, timelines, and deliverables. \nEvaluate trade-offs involving capital investment, capacity, manufacturing readiness, and technology performance.\nEscalate risks and provide solution options when alignment cannot be reached.\nCommunication & Continuous Improvement\nPresent analytical findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.\nDevelop scalable data analysis, automated processes, and decision-support tools. \nLeverage AI, programming languages like Python, SQL, and R, alongside Excel and VBA to improve planning efficiency and decision quality. \nBuild reusable AI-assisted workflows while ensuring responsible AI usage and data security.\nGrow into a domain expert and technical program leader within assigned planning areas. \nPotential Focus Areas\nTechnology transitions and new-node manufacturing introductions.\nStrategies for planning machinery and operational volume. \nFab space utilization and utility-efficiency improvements.\nCapital investment and wafer cost evaluation. \nTool utilization, reuse, conversion, and throughput optimization.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or another field involving quantitative analysis. \n2+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process engineering, equipment engineering, technology development, or managing production resources. \nExperience building quantitative models and data analyses using Excel, Python, SQL, or similar tools.\nExperience contributing to multi-functional projects from planning through execution. \nStrong analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently, learn new technical concepts quickly, and adapt to shifting priorities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Science, or a closely related area. \nKnowledge of semiconductor production scheduling, front-end manufacturing operations, and technology roadmaps. \nExperience with: Technology transfer from development to high-volume manufacturing. Equipment and capacity modeling. Fab space and utility planning.
