You will also take part in the management of product deviation events, through participation in product containment activities and providing quality and reliability evaluation plans for risk assessment.\nYou will also manage the outgoing quality and reliability (OQRM) metrics. You are expected to conduct failure analysis from qualification, evaluation and OQRM failures and report the resulting data. You can expect to conduct global meetings to determine product priorities or product dispositions.\nIn this role you will work with various Engineering and Quality Reliability Assurance Groups to provide technical support, expertise, consultation and training. You should expect to support customers both internal and external to Micron on an on-going basis.\nResponsibilities And Tasks\nManage Reliability evaluations for deviation management\nDetermine a reliability evaluation/trials plan\n\nIdentify and manage material for sampling\n\nPerform data analysis of reliability tests results and/or by conducting failure analysis\n\nClose out evaluation and provide feedback to stakeholders\n\nIdentify deviated material within Material Review Board (MRB)\nTake part in containment activities\n\nDetermine a reliability evaluation/trials plan\n\nIdentify and manage material for sampling\n\nPerform data analysis of reliability tests results and/or by conducting failure analysis\n\nDetermine disposition of materials\n\nClose out evaluation and provide feedback to stakeholders\n\nManage and coordinate various inputs from various stakeholders in Quality Reliability\nCollaborate with discrete component product quality and reliability team for product reliability evaluations/trials/plans\n\nCollaborate with package quality and reliability team for package-related reliability evaluations/trials/plans\n\nManage Product Outgoing Quality and Reliability Monitoring\nProvide the plan for operations to execute for SSD product OQRM data collection\n\nAnalyze the data from Micron Manufacturing Execution System (MES) such as MAM\n\nUse statistical analysis tools to provide conclusions and verify results\n\nSummarize the reult of analyzed data through a regular OQRM metrics report\n\nDigital & AI Tool Usage\nLeverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, agentic AI platforms, and other generative AI solutions) to enhance engineering effectiveness, automate routine tasks, analyze large datasets, and improve decision quality.\n\nDrive adoption of AI-enabled workflows to increase productivity, reduce cycle time, and improve knowledge sharing within the organization.\n\nProvide Expertise, Consultation and Training\nCommunicate Globally with NAND, Firmware, BUs and Engineering Groups for priority management\n\nProvide training to engineers and technicians within and outside of the group\n\nMaintain knowledge base (lessons learned) within the group for each SSD market segment\n\nStay abreast of Quality and Reliability issues of Micron NAND components\n\nProvide consultation for audits, RMA, and customer issues\n\nEducation\nRequired: Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field\n\nDesired: PhD in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field\n\nCandidates with a Bachelor’s degree and strong academic performance, relevant internships, research projects, or semiconductor-related experience may also be considered.\n\nExperience\nExposure through coursework, academic research, internships, co-op programs, or project work in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Solid State Drive (SSD) products and storage technologies, Non-Volatile Memory (NAND, NOR, UFS, eMMC, SSD) technologies, Semiconductor device engineering, Semiconductor process integration engineering, Semiconductor quality and reliability engineering\n\nExperience applying engineering principles to solve complex technical problems through academic, research, or internship projects.\n\nDemonstrated ability to effectively utilize Generative AI and Agentic AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent tools) to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, accelerate data analysis, and enhance technical documentation.\n\nComfortable leveraging AI-assisted tools in daily engineering activities while exercising sound technical judgment, critical thinking, and responsible data handling practices.\n\nStrong willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a fast-paced semiconductor product development environment.\n\nQualifications\nFundamental knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and wafer fabrication processes\n\nFundamental understanding of semiconductor device physics\n\nBasic understanding of NAND flash memory architecture and operation\n\nBasic understanding of Solid State Drive (SSD) architecture and operation\n\nFamiliarity with storage interface standards such as SATA, PCIe, and NVMe through coursework, projects, or internships\n\nUnderstanding of engineering statistics and reliability concepts\n\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills\n\nEffective written and verbal communication skills\n\nAbility to learn new technologies quickly and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional global team environment\n\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich lifefor all.
