The team works hands-on with manufacturing processes, equipment, and data to directly impact yield, output, and cost.\nAs an ID1 High Volume Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern, you will focus on process optimization, yield improvement, and cost reduction initiatives within a fast-paced fab environment. You will collaborate closely with equipment engineers, operations leaders, and multi-functional partners while leveraging data-driven and AI-enabled approaches to improve process stability and wafer output.\nResponsibilities\nMonitor and analyze production data to identify process shifts, yield loss, and defect trends impacting wafer output\nApply SPC, FDC, and structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D) to improve process capability and tool performance\nPartner with equipment and operations teams to resolve excursions, defects, and throughput issues\nImplement projects to optimize wafer processing, improve yield, and increase wafer outs\nLeverage AI-enabled or AI-assisted analytics tools to enhance data analysis, anomaly detection, and decision-making in manufacturing processes\nMinimum Qualifications\nCurrently pursuing a STEM degree with an expected graduation between May-June 2027\nAvailability to work approximately 20 hours per week on-site in Boise, ID, for 6-8 months (preferred September 2026-May/June 2027)\nFoundational knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE)\nExperience with one or more programming or data tools such as Python, Java, MATLAB, Tableau, or Microsoft Excel\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, including exposure to applying AI-supported tools or data-driven methodologies\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in semiconductor manufacturing, process engineering, or sustaining environments\nFamiliarity with data collection systems, data cleansing, and database querying\nHands-on experience with data analysis, visualization, and interpretation of large datasets\nBasic understanding of semiconductor fab processes, equipment, and yield drivers\nStrong communication, organization, and time management skills with the ability to collaborate in team environments\nAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
