Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.\nProject Title\nPackage Development Engineering Internship: Advanced Packaging, Engineering Analytics & AI Enablement\nProject Description\nThe intern will join the Package Development Engineering (PDE) team for a 3-month assignment, working with PDE leadership and engineers on a focused engineering project related to semiconductor packaging, process development, engineering analytics, automation, and productivity improvement.\nThe internship provides hands-on exposure to how advanced semiconductor packages are developed, characterized, improved, and prepared for manufacturing.\nProject Scope\nThe intern may support one or more of the following areas:\nPackage and process development, including engineering data collection, analysis, and documentation.\nEngineering data analysis to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.\nExperiments, evaluations, package/process characterization, and development activities.\nYield, quality, cost, and cycle-time improvement.\nDevelopment of dashboards, automation, or analytical tools to improve engineering productivity and decision-making.\nApplication of AI, data analytics, and automation to engineering workflows.\nCross-functional problem-solving with engineering teams on package development challenges.\nLearning Opportunities\nThe intern will gain:\nPractical exposure to semiconductor package development and manufacturing.\nExperience working with real engineering problems, datasets, and development activities.\nExposure to advanced packaging, yield improvement, engineering analytics, automation, and AI-enabled engineering.\nOpportunity to work with experienced engineers and technical leaders.\nExperience taking a project through the full cycle of problem definition → analysis → solution → recommendation.\nExposure to technical communication and presenting engineering findings to PDE leadership.\nDeliverables\nBy the end of the internship, the intern will be expected to:\nComplete a focused engineering project with measurable outcomes.\nDevelop the relevant engineering analysis, model, dashboard, automation, or technical recommendation.\nDocument key findings, methodology, and recommendations.\nPrepare a concise technical summary.\nPresent the final project, results, and learnings to the PDE team/leadership.\nImpact of Project\nThe project should contribute to one or more practical PDE outcomes, such as:\nImproving engineering productivity and decision-making.\nAccelerating engineering data analysis and problem-solving.\nIdentifying opportunities to improve yield, quality, cost, or cycle time.\nImproving engineering workflows through analytics, automation, or AI.\nGenerating insights or solutions that can potentially be extended to future package-development activities.\nSkillsets Required\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nComfortable working with engineering data.\nFamiliarity with Excel, Python, Power BI, or similar analytical tools is preferred.\nInterest in semiconductor technology, advanced packaging, manufacturing, AI, or data analytics.\nCurious, self-driven, and willing to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.\nGood communication skills and ability to work across technical disciplines.\nCourse of Interest\nStudents currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:\nElectrical / Electronic Engineering\nMechanical Engineering\nMaterials Science / Materials Engineering\nChemical Engineering\nData Science / Data Analytics\nComputer Engineering / Computer Science\nManufacturing / Industrial Engineering\nOther related technical or engineering disciplines\nDuration\n3 months\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich lifefor all.
