Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.\nLocation\nSingapore\nDepartment\nPlanning / Strategic Layout\nProject Title\nStrategic Layout Planning and AI-Enabled Process Improvement\nProject Description\nThe intern will undertake a structured project focused on improving strategic layout planning through site assessment, cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, automation, and AI-enabled process improvement.\nThrough the project, the intern will gain practical exposure to manufacturing layout considerations and learn how physical and infrastructure constraints influence layout planning decisions. The intern will also explore how automation and Artificial Intelligence tools can improve data analysis, information management, and planning workflows.\nObjective of the Project\nGain practical understanding of strategic layout planning within a manufacturing environment.\nEvaluate physical, operational, and infrastructure considerations that influence layout feasibility.\nApply engineering, data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled methods to identify opportunities for improving planning efficiency.\nDevelop a project-based solution or tool that improves layout planning, reporting, or data management.\nOpportunities for Full-Time Employment\nThe internship provides an opportunity for the intern to develop relevant engineering, analytical, digital, and cross-functional skills applicable to future graduate employment opportunities.\nProject Scope\nConduct structured onsite assessments with Facilities and Tool Owners to understand layout feasibility and identify relevant physical and infrastructure constraints.\nEvaluate proposed layouts against actual site conditions and document observations for project analysis.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate proposed layout changes, and evaluate constraints.\nDevelop automation, dashboards, or data management solutions using tools such as Python, Power Automate, SQL, or other relevant digital tools.\nExplore the application of AI-enabled tools, including Generative AI or AI Assistants, to enhance data analysis, information organization, reporting, or selected layout-planning workflows.\nLearning Opportunities\nDevelop practical knowledge of manufacturing layout planning and the considerations involved in evaluating layout feasibility.\nGain exposure to cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, and Tool Owners.\nApply programming and automation skills such as Python, Power Automate, or SQL to a defined engineering project.\nGain practical exposure to AI-enabled ways of working and evaluate appropriate applications of Artificial Intelligence within engineering and planning processes.\nDeliverables\nDocumented assessment of selected layout requirements, constraints, and observations.\nAnalysis of layout planning data and identified process improvement opportunities.\nA functional automation, dashboard, data management relevant to the project scope.\nFinal project presentation summarizing findings, learning outcomes, recommendations, and project deliverables.\nImpact of the Project\nImprove visibility and organization of information used in strategic layout planning.\nIdentify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of selected planning workflows.\nDemonstrate how automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled approaches can contribute to more efficient planning and information management.\nSkillsets Required\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.\nFamiliarity with programming, data analysis, or automation tools such as Python, Power Automate, or SQL through coursework, academic projects, or internship experience.\nFamiliarity with Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Assistants, or AI-enabled workflows through coursework, projects, or practical experience would be advantageous.\nBasic knowledge of AutoCAD would be an strong advantage.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.\nCourse of Interest\nThe ideal candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.\nDuration of Period\nThe ideal candidate should be able to commit to a full time internship period of at least 5 months.\nAbout Micron Technology, Inc.\nWe are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich lifefor all.
