The team focuses on implementing and sustaining Process Safety Management (PSM) elements to enable a world-class safety environment at the new Boise site.\nThe Process Safety Engineer (PSE) Intern supports the development, implementation, and sustainment of Micron’s PSM program. This role partners with process safety engineers and multidisciplinary teams to identify, mitigate, and manage risk while assisting with engineering activities and PSM initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nParticipate in PSM projects and program initiatives.\nAttend Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions for selected systems.\nSupport collection and organization of Process Safety Information (PSI).\nEngage with process safety engineers to track and close PHA action items.\nAssist engineering teams with process safety audits and safety calculations for new equipment.\nPresent a summary of internship work to senior staff.\nLeverage Micron-approved AI tools to improve productivity and problem-solving while ensuring all AI-Enabled outputs are independently reviewed and validated.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBasic understanding of schematic drawings, P&IDs, or similar technical renderings.\nBasic background in process safety engineering calculations.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products.\nAccess to reliable transportation.\nPursuing a BS, MS, or advanced degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Environmental Engineering, or related field with a focus on process safety.\nMust be a current student and not graduate before September 2026.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Power BI or Power Automate.\nIntegrity, positivity, and desire to learn.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-team environment as well as independently.\nAbility to complete work within established timelines.\nAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
