You will develop automation tools, AI agents, and CI/CD solutions that improve how firmware is built, tested, integrated, and validated. This role focuses on engineering productivity, intelligent automation, and scalable development workflows rather than firmware feature development.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and deploy AI agents that enhance firmware development, testing, integration, and validation workflows.\nBuild and maintain Python-based automation solutions for CI/CD pipelines, firmware builds, testing, and release activities.\nAnalyze CI/CD pipeline performance, test results, and workflow data to identify opportunities for quality, reliability, and productivity improvements.\nIntegrate AI-assisted tools and intelligent automation capabilities into existing firmware engineering processes.\nCollaborate with firmware, validation, and software engineering teams to evaluate, deploy, and continuously improve automation and AI-enabled development solutions.\nMinimum Qualifications\n0-2 years of relevant experience through internships, research projects, coursework, academic projects, hackathons, or software development activities related to automation, AI, DevOps, firmware, or software engineering.\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.\nStrong programming experience in Python.\nUnderstanding of software development fundamentals, debugging, automation, and problem-solving techniques.\nInterest in artificial intelligence, AI agents, machine learning, intelligent automation, or AI-assisted software development.\nStrong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.\nExperience using AI-enabled tools and large language models (LLMs) such as Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar technologies to improve productivity and software development workflows.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with embedded systems, firmware development, SSD technologies, or large-scale engineering environments.\nUnderstanding of CI/CD concepts, DevOps practices, automated testing, source control, or software delivery pipelines.\nExperience developing automation tools, workflow solutions, scripts, or software engineering productivity tools.\nFamiliarity with AI agents, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or LLM-based applications.\nExperience with Git, build systems, test automation frameworks, cloud technologies, or software development lifecycle processes.\nDemonstrated interest in applying AI technologies to engineering workflows, failure analysis, test optimization, and developer productivity improvements.\nThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:\n$27.42 - $50.24 an hourAdditional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.\nOur salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
