This role emphasizes research and development across hardware architecture, operating systems, and performance analysis to support Agentic AI inference workloads. If you are ambitious and eager to make an impact in the exciting world of AI and memory systems, this is the perfect opportunity for you!\nResponsibilities\nCharacterize AI inference workloads and examine memory behavior\nBuild and evaluate tiered memory hierarchies for AI accelerators\nStudy KV cache lifecycles, MoE models, and data placement strategies\nCompare and optimize explicit versus hardware-assisted data movement\nDevelop, test, debug, and detail system-level and OS components\nPrototype and evaluate agentic AI systems by building agents and multi-agent workflows using modern frameworks and orchestration patterns (planning, tool use, memory, and context management). Apply these technologies both as workloads under study and as accelerators for internal engineering workflows\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's, with 10+ yrs experience, or Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field\nStrong background in memory systems, operating systems, distributed systems, or parallel computing\nProficiency in C/C++ and Python with hands-on systems programming experience\nExperience working in Linux environments, including shell scripting and debugging tools\nStrong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with advanced memory technologies such as HBM and LPDDR\nFamiliarity with AI/ML systems, particularly inference workloads\nExperience with GPU programming frameworks such as CUDA or OpenCL\nKnowledge of performance analysis and system-level optimization techniques\nExperience with Linux kernel memory management or system-level simulation models\nThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:\n$215,000.00 - $376,000.00 a yearAdditional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.\nOur salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
